Genosha (Civil war IV) Part 15

Alex Wayne POV

We had stolen a vehicle and headed in the direction of the mines.

On the way I caught a strange smell in the air and the more we advanced, the smell became stronger.

I realized that I am the only one who can smell it, so I understood that it is because of my new enhanced senses, the good thing was that I can control them otherwise it would be difficult for me to bear the smell.

A while later, Jessica seems to finally notice the smell.

"What's that smell? It looks like something is rotting" Jessica said.

"Stop, let's see where it comes from" I said.

The place is deserted and where the smell comes from is the pit in front of us.

Looking into the pit, we discover what is causing that smell.

What we saw filled us with rage, the pit is full of hundreds of dead bodies and I assumed they were mutants.

While we are looking at the pit, a truck approaches and as it stops, a group of four men get out of it.

From the back of the truck these men take out corpses that they begin to throw into the pit.

Although I am on the other side of the pit, I can still hear their conversation.

"Today's death toll is higher than normal, it seems that these mutants are not afraid of death hahahaha" one of the men said.

"You're right, but not everyone wants to be a good dog, which makes hunting them fun" one of his companions said.

"And they claimed to be the next superior race hahahaha" another of their companions said.

Hearing his words, everyone laughs.

Listening to their conversation I approach them and say:

"Hey guys, can I have your truck?"

The men are surprised, but seeing Jessica and me wearing the Magistrates' uniform, they relax and one of them says:

"Don't scare us like that mate, I almost thought you meant it"

"But I really want your truck" I said coldly.

Without giving them more time to think about my words, I finish them off.

"Let's go" I told Jessica.

Nodding, she gets into the truck.

It took us almost an hour to get to the mines.

The place seems to have improved its security, but that didn't bother me.

We enter the mines while avoiding security.

The place is huge, looking around we see a lot of tunnels, from which the mutants take out large amounts of minerals.

Seeing them like this, I decided it was time to free them and finish off all the bastards in the place.

Moving stealthily, we enter a tunnel.

We got rid of the guards and the mutants inside the tunnel are shocked.

When I was going to speak, I hear a voice that says:

"It's you, Alex Wayne"

I am surprised, I look at the person who spoke and I recognize him immediately.
