‘Did he ask you to get me?’ She asked with an expression full of expectations.

‘No, he left.’ I hated being the bearer of bad news, but the cold water had to be poured.

'How is she?' I liked Janice's company, she was an old woman with so much life in her but Emily told me she was getting sicker and sicker by the day.

'I don't want to lose anyone anymore. Janice has been saying weird things about getting to see Lily. During the remembrance, she kept making these comments that just pissed me off.'

That sounded so much like Janice. I did not want Emily to lose another important person so I crossed my fingers for Janice. I hoped nothing would take her away.

Emily's house was not a brick shorter than what I expected. It was much bigger than the one I was used to. It was painted cream and a color that looked like yellow. I did not quite understand it, I had never seen anything like it.
