Edmund sat in the bustling pub nursing his half empty glass of whiskey as the singer on the stage climbed unto the stage and began singing one of the popular songs. Men and women sang along, causing the atmosphere to be lively and friendly. Edmund would have been fascinated by the entertainment if he wasn't thinking about

His eyes flew to the stage and he saw her. She beamed at her audience. A smile that contrasted what her life was in reality.
