CHAPTER 41

Edmund opened his eyes in the dimly lit room and groaned. It took a few seconds for his brain to register where he was. He did it again. He had been so furious the previous night. Viscount William had done nothing but brag about how he had won Susan's affection and how madly in love she had fallen for him. He knew it wasn't true. He owned the Vixen's heart—unless she lied to him. It wasn't a lie. He had seen, tasted and felt the Vixen's feelings for him. It was as if the Viscont was saying those things to get a rile out of him because he knew something. Out of everybody in the town, why chose him to brag to?

He needed to pee and His throat was in desperate need of water he didn't know how to get in the house. He couldn't just walk out of the door and straight into Lord Spencer's kitchen. That would be very—interesting. Well, he needed to get water before he died of dehydration.
