CHAPTER 50

Edmund jumped down from his horse before it could halt properly. The adrenaline pumping in his body from the crazy horse ride to Susan's place and the truth he was about to find out, made his head pound. He was very sure of what he remembered.

The last place he wore the coat to was Susan's house. The day he had last seen her. The butler had taken the coat from him on his arrival, but after the heated argument with the witch, it was a maid who returned it and said something along the lines of, 'You might want to check your pocket,' He had been so angry and frustrated that the first thing he did when he got home was to toss the coat on the bed, freshened up and spent the rest of day in Sam's pub. He drank as though his life depended on it. How could he have been so stupid to forget something like that?
