CHAPTER 56

Opening her eyes, Susan realised she was stuck in the middle of the chaos. She breathed a sigh of relief when she found out that she was alive and healthy—but stuck. Edmund was a few feet away from her. All she had to do was reach out to him, but she couldn't.

"Why do you keep tempting me, woman? Get back here,"

Tentatively, she turned to face William. She didn't know which one was worse, the gun or the menacing look he was wearing. With every second that passed by the man lost more control of mental health. "William, please, let's end this madness."

"We will, once you leave this place with me."

"William, I can't give you what you are asking for,"

"Last time I checked, I didn't ask you for anything. You are in no place to tell me what I want."

"William, please, let her go," Edmund interjected. He tried to reach for Susan but stopped when the gun was pointed at him. At least it was better that way.
