Evolution after Death?!

"Father!!!" They cried in unison. Leaping through the air onto the chest of what they think of their father, they rubbed their faces into the bloodied cloth, unwilling to believe that their father had passed away. While it is true that he did, it was not the one that we are currently holding.

"Wake up, Pappa! You can't leave us yet! We still have so much we need to learn, and the comfort of you brings us so much joy for you to leave us like this!" the green-haired cat girl said between sobs. As her personality is the boldest out of the trio, she was the only one who could speak, as all the others were weeping in despair at the loss of their loved ones.

It wasn't until Argas, who was standing behind them, whipped his tears away and carried all three under his arm a great distance away from the burial, as to not disrupt it. Fighting to get back to their father, the girls bit and scratched and kicked Argas, but to no avail. All they could do is see their father slowly getting lowered into the grave.

After all the graves had been filled with bodys, I still had to lay immobile, which was really hard, because although I did not have a heartbeat or any of that, I could still feel the coarse dirt and the freezing clay in the hole, so it was quite uncomfortable. Nevertheless, I have gotten this far, so I cannot back down now. Staying as limp as possible, I let the cool dirt fall over my features, obscuring me from everyone. Hearing the cries of the people Gallen protected, I had to resist the need to laugh hysterically.

'These Beasts are so easy to fool! Then again, my new humble state has also helped me, so I guess planning and complacency both helped me achieve the completion of my plan'. Anyways, now that I am completely covered in dirt, I think now is the best time for me to check out how much my status has changed. *click*

[SPORE-COUNT]

{Spore Count: Alter Spores-31,455,136,845,375,}

{Bone Spores-48,675,045,276}

Mana Wave? I don't remember that in my skill arsenal before. It must be because I Memorized a living organism instead of a dead one or inanimate objects. I will have to test this out later.

Anyways, what does it mean, 'Evolution Available'? Although this is classic in most Isekai stories, I don't know how something as simple as a spore can evolve. Also, the Spore Transfer skill and Mana Wave do seem very useful, especially if I want to gain control over the village and also maintain my rule. First off, let's see what the evolutions that are available are. *click*

[Stable Spore]

With this evolution, you can withstand more attacks and elements, such as low-level elemental magic and more durabile, making the spores more manipulatable.

[Excel Spore]

With this evolution, the speed at which you can manipulate your spores increases drastically, as well as the speed at which you move, making your spores able to get tasks done quicker.

[Texture Spore]

With this evolution, the texture of the spores you have can be changed, slightly increasing the ability to change your spores into more than just circles, such as having a sharper edge or more coarse for more traction.

Wow! What a variety of selections! This is very interesting. Normally, it will just evolve you into something you have no control over, which I thought was very frustrating. Now, however, I am able to choose what I want to evolve into. Hmm, choosing between Stable, Excel, and Texture spore will be difficult. Each one has many different benefits.

For example, Stable could be great for defense, obviously, but also capturing. Eight able to withstand attacks can also mean protection from attack from the inside, such as a cage. This would also not limit the number of things I can try without getting overconfident. Defense is a great way to go. But there is merit in the other evolution options as well.

Excel seems to be one about speed, and not just in a movement sense. It also says that I could be able to make transitions from my copies faster, which would be a great help in a close combat situation, or from a far ways away. Not only that, but it might also affect my skills, making them work faster, such as fater Memorizing and Implanting, which would raise my spore count drastically. Much more uses than Stable, but that does not rule out Texture just yet.

From this one, it is all about attack and transitions. I can sharpen the spores on the edge of a blade I copied, which is even better than minimalizing the spores. This could be used in rope as adhesive, or as traps that will get creatures caught in it, and not able to get out. Also, if it means all textures, then I can make it slippery, which can also be used to make traps, as well as infiltration.
