As Gavin, Lily, and Penelope stood admiring the Jackson Pollock painting in Lily's new office, Amanda walked by the doorway, her sleek, bare calves flashing below her pencil skirt. Lily caught Penelope's gaze with a quizzical smile.
"Ah, Amanda,” Penelope said. "I can see why you’re curious. She's another one of Greer's projects."
A sly smile slid across Gavin's face. "Playing the 'what's their story' game, are we?" he said. "What fun."
"Especially when it comes to Amanda," Penelope confided, giving them a conspiratorial look. "As a die-hard party girl, she's dedicated to living her afterlife to its fullest."
"My friend, Mathew, seems to appreciate her enthusiasm," Lily joked. "I've tried warning him away from her several times, but he's smitten."
"She has that effect on humans," Gavin added, joining the fun. "Unfortunately, for your friend, she goes through them like a box of crackers."
