Peeling off Greer's jacket, Lily slipped out of her sweater, leaving only the silk straps of her nightgown to cover her shoulders. She caught Greer's eyes sweeping her bare skin as she turned her back to Penelope. "Is this going to hurt?" she asked.
"Your guess is as good as mine," Penelope answered, moving the paddle towards Lily.
"No," Greer said, catching her arm. "Let me see it first." He took the wand and, pressing a button on the head of the paddle, watched it light up. A series of green, red, blue, and yellow lights flashed in an irregular pattern. Greer held his hand under the light, but showed no signs of discomfort.
"Maybe there's some more information about it in here," Lily said, picking up the journal again. She could still feel Greer's eyes on her as she studied the pages.
"No," Greer said, taking the journal from her. "I remember looking when I found the wand. There’s no mention of it.”
