Veronica likes nice things. Well, if you ask me, her stupid cheesy cowboy isn’t a nice thing. Just because he can buy anything he wants and can make anything he wants happen, he thinks he can buy her, too. The sad thing is he is partially right.


I imagine him sitting in his wingback throne laughing at me thinking he has won whenever Veronica doesn’t come home for weeks at a time.


I know that Veronica doesn’t feel anything for Brett, though. She is just scratching his itch while he buys her clothes and cars and pays her rent. I don’t even know why she bothers working. 


She says it is because she doesn’t want to be his kept woman, she doesn’t have any desire to give up the kind of passion that a man like myself can give. Brett could never be that secure, despite the vastness of his fortune.


I will never refuse her money. Working as a waiter is just my way to meet the residents of Castleberg. I am no billionaire, but I have some old money hidden away.
