Brett’s POV
As a child, my mother told me a story that formed who I am as a man today.
The crow, allegedly, is the only bird stupid or brave enough to ride on the back of an eagle.
The story goes that the eagle soars through the skies unhindered, despite the annoying and sometimes painful pecking of the crow at its neck as he flies with his uninvited guest.
Instead of trying to shake the crow off, the eagle just soars higher into the sky, and it becomes harder for the crow to breathe, so eventually, he just falls off eventually.
She taught me to always be like the eagle, and when people try and bring you down – suck away your energy or distract you – that you should be like the eagle, and just soar higher above the riff-raff.
Let them all fall off.
And so, I did.
Bron Ambrose is one of those annoying crows.
