Chapter 31: Getting Better

Fyn fell asleep listening to Rowan talk softly to the bunny, and her sweet soothing voice followed him into his dreams, along with the picture of their future together. Hours later, he wasn’t sure how long, but long enough that his body felt stiff as a board. Rowan woke him to send him off to bed, but he brushed her off.

“You go to bed. I’ll care for the bunny,” Fyn told her as he stretched and yawned.

“Her name is Bun-Bun. I’m afraid if I leave, then she will start fighting you again,” Rowan replied drowsily.

She looked like she was already asleep on her feet. Refusing to let her not take care of herself, Fyn stretched once more, then swept her up off her feet and carried her to the couch. Rowan yelped but wrapped her arms around his neck, still trying to protest sleepily.

Gently, he laid her on the couch and covered her with a blanket. Fyn couldn't help but chuckle softly when he saw that she was asleep before her head hit the pillow.
