Chapter 44: Fyn's Invitation

Rowan's jaw dropped at Fyn’s single biting word that told her exactly what he thought of her excuse. It was plausible, in her mind, that some random people were driving by and caught sight of her house and decided to break in.

“W-what?" Rowan stuttered out.

"Bull...sh*t," Fyn snapped again, seeming even angrier at having to repeat himself.

"I don't understand," Rowan replied.

Fyn pinned her with a hard look and crossed his arms over his chest."See, I think you do. I think you understand exactly what is happening. The problem is, are you going to tell me? I know the answer to the question. I'm just curious if you're going to answer it."

Rowan backed away further from him, feeling almost attacked by him. He was so angry that it was extremely intimidating to have that on her. She honestly wasn't sure which was worse. The guilt of lying to him, or the guilt of being caught in that same lie.

Rowan chewed on her bottom up and looked away, unable to find the will to say anything else.
