Chapter 65: A Phone Call

Fyn heard the chairs scrap and quickly hid his head in the cup of coffee that one of the waitresses had brought him. He didn’t look up again until he heard the bell ring for the front door. Jumping up and hurried to the front door, hoping to catch the direction they would drive off in.

But Glenna stepped in the way. “I have a minute now if you still want to talk,” she said, still upset.

Fyn felt anxious as he tried to catch sight of the two men he was following, but Glenna was right in the way.

“I can’t right now,” Fyn said, trying to step around her.

But Glenna wasn’t moving. “What are you talking about? You just demanded to speak to me privately. But now that I have time, you don’t? This is ridiculous! And completely rude, Fyn!”

Fyn growled in frustration, making Glenna’s eyes grow wide with fear. She took a step back, and Fyn realized exactly what he had done.

He turned away and ran his fingers through his hair before turning back to her.
