Chapter 82: Realizations

Rowan had waited and waited to hear from Fyn or Cass. But by the second day, when she still hadn’t heard from them and, no one answered Fyn’s phone, she decided she was done waiting around. The gnawing ache of worry hadn’t gone away, and she desperately needed to make sure Fyn was alright.

However, Gordy’s admission that he hadn’t seen Fyn in several days was what made up her mind. Something was wrong, and she would find out what it was. She began to pack her things up and let Burger make one last run. As he ran around the woods, Momma bear stopped by with her little cubby to say goodbye.

Burger was sad to say goodbye to his little buddy, but they both perked up when Rowan promised to bring him back as soon as they were able to.

-Rowan comes back soon?- Momma bear asked hopefully.

Rowan hesitated before answering. -I hope so, Momma bear. But I don’t know when I’ll be safe from the bad men that are after me.
