Cass went back to the grove where his men were waiting. When Cass came out of the tree line, every man stopped what they were doing and walked towards him. Every one of them was more than ready to get this plan started.
Cass waved his hand to them. “Not yet,” he told them. “But, stay vigilant.”
They all bowed their heads, acknowledging his orders before going back to what they were doing. Cass’s heart swelled with pride seeing his men ready and eager to free their people. He knew this was one of the reasons why Alphas loved their people unconditionally.
Cass moved around his men to find Rowan sitting on the log talking to a tiny black bunny. Laying on the ground right next to the log was Burger, quietly snoring as he slept peacefully next to Rowan. The bunny stood up on its two legs, looking straight into Rowan’s face. It was all too obvious that Rowan was talking to the rabbit, and Cass was shocked that she wasn’t trying to hide it.
“Rowan?” Cass called.
