Chapter 94: Mateo

Rowan watched in shock as Charles walked away when a loud bang echoed through the room. Charles took two steps and then hit the ground hard as a bright red stain grew on the back of his light gray jacket. As he fell to the floor, Rowan turned to see one of the guards with a smoking gun.

Before Rowan could even consider her reactions, the room exploded into a flurry of activity as the Cass and Fyn raced at the guards.

Cass slammed into two guards, taking them down and bashing their heads into the ground. They did not get back up.

Rowan sought out Fyn in time to see him struggling with the third guard. Every blow that the guard landed made Fyn wince as if he was already hurting. Fyn was covered in gashes and bruises, and the guard seemed to make sure to hit each and every one of them.
