Chapter 42: Daddy Issues

Nico sat nervously in the empty waiting room of Anna M. Morgane, LPCC. Even the receptionist area behind the glass was vacant, but he’d signed in on a tablet as instructed when he’d arrived ten minutes beforehand. He wiped his sweaty palms on his pants and glanced at his smartwatch. It was almost time for his 11am appointment.

He’d spent the rest of the day on Friday working his way down Gloria’s list, and had struck pay dirt with number five. He’d been amazed to not only find a therapist with Saturday hours, but one who could fit him in the very next day due to a cancellation.

He’d even filled out all the paperwork right then and there and sent it off via email. Oddly, the very act of making the appointment had seemed to help. He’d actually been able to fall asleep on his own last night. He hadn’t slept well, but he’d slept. It was something, anyway.
