Massacre (2)

Yao Xinyu, Prince of Jin.

He knew it was his name, but how was it his name?

WHERE was he, at that?

Definitely not in his university library trying to make chronological sense out of ancient maps, purporting to show the growth of a nation from tiny fiefdom to world dominating power.

Not that the oldest maps where very useful, or even clear, just squiggles indicating nature formation like mountains, rivers, islands - maybe? If his interpretation was correct? - plus a variety of arrows that might, or might not, indicate directions or movements of some kind.

Creations at about the level of his own lamentable drawing skills.

Luckily, he wasn't required to draw maps, just try to make sense of those that existed.

So what if the various arrows pointing to and from to what might possibly be a peninsula reaching from a steep mountain into a wide river were conflicting forces?
