Hundreds of years ago, a race of supernatural beings called Mystics and humans went to war, almost resulting in the extinction of Mystic-kind. The Council, often seen as the Gods of all Mystics, created a rule that would prevent this from occurring again-Mystics must mask as human and can't interact with other Mystics to lessen the chance of exposure. Their existence is now only ever written as myth.

Michaela (Mika) Corey is an eighteen-year-old Druid who lives her life pretending to be human. She's loyal to the rule, but the seclusion puts her in a box she struggles to fit into. THE DIVIDE

After school, we meet again at the Sacred Pines playground. The date on the posters is tomorrow, and excitement brews among us, finally getting an opportunity to interact with other Mystics that live in town, maybe even ones that go to Pinewood High. But that excitement needs to stay at bay for now. Preparations are in order. 


All four of us have our own duties to take care of. Riley and Lucian are cleaning up the cottage. Iris is using her nature and elemental magic to our advantage, filling the field with flowers and planting a small garden. I am assigned to the stables, to care for Cherry, brush her, feed her, make sure she’s ready for tomorrow. If there’s a big turn-out, they’re all gonna want to see Cherry, the last Unicorn in existence. Even if there isn’t, who wouldn’t want to see a Unicorn?
