Chapter 13: History Lesson

Parker was sitting at Damien’s desk, her history textbook open while she worked on an essay on his computer. Damien was lying on his bed reading a book that wasn’t for school. He’d already finished his homework.

It never ceased to amaze Parker how quickly Damien could finish his schoolwork, but he actually seemed to enjoy the mundane routine. Parker despised it!

“What was London like in the 1720s?” Parker asked, looking over her shoulder at Damien. He put his open book down on his chest, propping his head upon his elbow so he could see her better.

“I wasn’t in London in the 1720s,” he said.

“Were you still underground?” she asked. Damien shook his head.

“No,” he said. “I was only underground for a few decades,” he reminded her. Parker giggled with how casually he said ‘a few decades.’

“Where were you in the 1720s?” she asked. Damien hummed thoughtfully.
