Chapter 25: Christmas Formal

Just before Christmas break, there was a Christmas Formal at the school. Parker and Lissa got ready for the dance at Lissa’s house, per her insistence. Parker had been hesitant, because every time they’d gotten ready for a dance together, Lissa had wanted to do her hair and makeup.

“Parker, that dress is gorgeous,” Lissa said when Parker put her periwinkle blue dress on. It was a floor-length, fitted dress with white and dark blue beadwork down the left side. It had spaghetti straps and was a little low cut in the front.

“Really?” Parker asked. “I wasn’t sure if I wanted floor length.”

“No, it is perfect,” Lissa said. “I wish I’d gone with something more colorful now.” She held up her silver, sparkling dress. Parker smiled.

“No, your dress is absolutely stunning,” Parker assured. Lissa beamed and changed into her dress, her dark curls contrasting against the silver beautifully. She went to her mirror and started doing her makeup. Parker ran a brush through her hair.
