Chapter 23: Family Reunion

Parker, Damien, and Lucien sat down together for lunch in the school cafeteria. Lucien hadn’t been to school in days, but he’d been hanging around strangely all day.

“How was your night with Lissa?” Damien asked.

“Good,” Parker said. “We watched chick movies, ate snacks, and talked about boys.”

“That sounds great,” Damien said. Lucien scoffed.

“That sounds boring,” he said. Parker rolled her eyes.

“Why are you even here?” she asked. “You’ve been skipping school for days.” Lucien shrugged.

“I have a feeling something interesting is going to happen today,” he said without elaborating.

Parker looked at Damien. He shook his head.

“Don’t even bother,” Damien said.

“You know, it might have been boring by your standards, Lucien, but that kind of thing is still fun for me,” Parker said. Lucien rolled his eyes.
