Parker and Lucien had already discovered that Drake was staying in a foreclosed house on the edge of town. It was probably where he had Lissa. With Caelus’s arrival, it was unlikely that Drake would be trying to maintain a presence in two locations. He would never leave either Lissa or Caelus unguarded and vulnerable. 


Lucien and Damien took off to confirm Drake’s location and see how far along he was with getting Caelus settled. Since Drake had his hands full, he hadn’t bothered to stop by and check up on them. Parker’s status as a vampire was still a secret. 


While the brothers were away, Parker went to her old house. She’d been there when she became a vampire, but she hadn’t been back in what felt like forever. It had been less than twenty-four hours, and she already felt like the house wasn’t hers anymore. 


She packed a bag. Mostly grabbing clothes, shoes, and a few comfort items that she liked. Anything that had to do with high school she left where it was.
