In the dining room in another house somewhere in Wetland sat a family of six having their breakfast. Mr. Jonathan Eveston sat at the head of the dining table with his wife seated on his right and his eldest son on his left who sat with his wife. Mary sat next to Diana, her elder brother's wife, and Wendy sat by her mother, Mrs. Portia Eveston.
The Evestons were a family of six. Rooney is the eldest son, his wife, Lady Diana. Mary the second child who was sixteen and Wendy, the last born who would be six years the next day.
They were having a conversation at the table about their plans for Wendy's birthday.
"I think it should just be a small family gathering, just us."Mr. Jonathan chipped in. He held a grim expression on his face.
Mr. Jonathan was a stern man. He had light blue eyes and black hair and always looked poised. He loved his family dearly and protected them from people who meant to put them in harm's way.
"No Papa! I want a big birthday celebration this time"little Wendy whined looking at her father.
"Yes Papa, let's throw Wendy a grand party this year"Mary supported Wendy." please papa...pleeeeease"She dragged her words while blinking at her father.
Mrs.Portia placed her left hand on her husband's wrist.
"Honey, just this time, let them have a party in the house." Mrs.Portia persuaded him looking into his eyes.
A sigh passed through Mr. Jonathan's lips and he finally agreed.
"Alright then...you can have your party in the house."
"YAY!!" Mary and Wendy cheered simultaneously.
They were excited that their father had agreed to their request.
"But...."Mr.Jonathan said and suddenly everyone turned attentive."I don't want anything going wrong during the party that will imperil your lives. People have turned dangerous nowadays. Is that clear?..Mr. Jonathan stated..and Mary and Wendy nodded their heads.
"Don't worry, Jonathan..I'll handle things." It was Diana who spoke this time.
"Hmm.."Mr.Jonathan hummed and nodded his head in response.
It wasn't as if Mr.Jonathan could not throw his children a party or that he hated parties, he just didn't like people in the house who would gossip and send false rumors about their family in the town. People liked to stick their noses in other people's lives and spread rumors. He then turned his face to his son.
"Rooney, eat up fast, we're getting late for work."
"Yes Papa" He responded and continued eating his food in a slight hurry.
Rooney worked with his father at the family's company in Yokoma.
Rooney stood up along with his father after finishing his food. He wiped his mouth with the napkin and kissed his wife's forehead.
"I'll be back before you know it," he said and saw Diana smile at him. He waved at Wendy and his Mom. He pulled Mary's cheek slightly when he passed by her and waved at her. Jonathan wished his family goodbye and headed out with his son. They got into the car and drove off.
The rest of the people at the dining table finished their food quickly and stood up from there. Three maids came in and cleared the table. Diana, Mary, and Wendy went up to Diana's room making plans for the party.
