chapter 19

"Ugh finally, the foods here!" Sam exclaimed.

we followed Sam's gaze. a white sedan came rolling up the driveway. the driver's side door flew open, and a over enthusiastic delivery driver came out with two large brown bag's of what seemed to be food.

Sam uncharacteristically dashed over towards the driver with unnatural speed. gave the driver the money, and came back with the two large bag's.

"Man, im hungry..." Sam sighed happily as he approached us.

"how much did all this cost Sam?" I asked him, not wanting to hear his answer.

"don't worry Jake... just three hundred..." Sam stated nonchalantly, as he placed the bag's on the small table next to his chair.

'hmm. was that table there before? I don't remember seeing it before...' I thought to myself as I watched Sam fumble around with the bag's.

"wait a damn minute... THREE HUNDRED!?" I questioned as dread washed over me.

"Ehh, it's not that big of a deal. I used my money, so calm down..." Sam stated, as he pulled white containers from the brown bag's.

"Even if you say that, it's a lot of fucking money Sam!" I sighed.

Sam peeled the clear cover off of the container, and steam bellowed out from it. I was instantly welcomed by the scent of fried rice, and sweet and sour chicken.

Sam eagerly handed us a container, as well as a couple Eggrolls.

Elise studied her food with a complex gaze. Sam looked up at her for a moment before explaining.

"you eat it, you know...." Sam said as he mimicked eating, like he was showing a baby what to do.

"I know how to eat!" Elise huffed, "I just don't know what this is..."

Sam looked mortified at what Elise just said. he looked over at me with shaking eye's, and back at her.

"y-you're kidding right?" Sam shakily asked.

"I'm a vampire, my main priority is not to injoy human food... but I do like to try their culinary creations..." Elise said in a matter-of-factly tone, as she peeled back the cover of the container.

the steam bellowed out from the container, and rushed up into her face. after a couple seconds, the steam disappeared, Elise sniffed the air.

she seemed to like the smell, because the smile that was still plastered on her face was now drooling.

Sam handed her a plastic fork that came from the bag. And she instantly poked a piece of sweet and sour chicken, and plopped it into her mouth.

she made a couple sounds of euphoria as she chewed her food, but quickly caught herself. and continued to eat her food silently.

I repeated the Sam process. after placing a piece of the chicken in my mouth, it started to melt in my mouth. While still a little crunchy, it was packed with flavor that I've never had before.

the fried rice was just as tasty. the golden grains of rice mixed the pieces of pork and vegetables mixed into my mouth, and gave off a delicious taste.

finally I was on the Eggroll. the crust crunched under my teeth, the fillings poured out into my mouth. left me in the same feeling of euphoria as Elise.

after a while everyone finished their food, and looked completely stuffed.

except for Sam that is.

since he finished his food way before anyone he was already smoking another joint.

you know... I still don't understand how vampire's are able to eat human food. isn't that like one of the things you could never do?" Sam pondered as he took another drag from his blunt.

"I feel like we had this conversation a million times..." I muttered to myself.

"to put it simply, we adapted. After the dark ages we started to try to infiltrate human society. and as the world progressed we vampire's of noble birth or higher developed a sort of normal stomach, so we could completely consume human food. but we still need blood. human food doesn't sustain us for long..." Elise stated as she leaned back in her chair.

"so why aren't the low to mid ranked vampire's able to eat human food?" I asked.

"that's simple... because nobody gives a shit about those weaker then them..." Elise stated in a matter-of-factly tone.

"isn't that kinda fucked up though?" I asked.

"how so?" Elise tilted her head.

"well, you're basically denying a good portion of your own kind advancements that could most likely change their life..." I elaborated.

Elise chuckled, and I started to think I said something wrong.

"you're naive... maybe because you're young..." Elise said as she stared at me.

"why you talking like you ain't the same age woman!" Sam suddenly questioned Elise.

Elise just smiled and put her hands on her hips.

"I'm over a two thousand years old, and I look much better then you would..." she stated as she gave Sam a glare.

"so you're a milf?" Sam questioned with a smirk.

i had to stop myself from cackling, so I turned back to face the fire.

"what the hell is a milf?" Elise asked with confusion in her voice.

I looked back at her and she had her head tilted, with the mother of all confused expressions plastered all over her face.

"here search the word up..." Sam ordered as he handed her his phone.

Elise looked at the phone for a moment before grabbing it. she typed in the word and searched.

"all that came up was a bunch of websites that start with xxx..." she muttered.

"click it..." Sam ordered, holding back his laughter.

"why?" Elise asked.

"just click it!" Sam said in a shakey voice.

she clicked the link to the website and a video started playing.

her face contorted after a few seconds, but she never looked away instead she watched with upmost concentration.

"what the hell is this?" Elise asked Sam.

"ah, the wonders of the internet..." Sam said as he cackled.

"T-that was porn... you know what porn is right?" I asked while trying not to laugh.

"it where someone can watch two people doing the deed whilst they beat their meat." Sam explained through laughing.

"what meat are you beating?" Elise asked still confused.

Sam looked at her in disbelief, but a smile spread across his face.

"you're a virgin ain't ya?" Sam asked.

Elise glared at Sam with annoyance.

"do you mean, have I slept with someone before?" Elise asked.

"yes" Sam confirmed.

"then no, I'm not a virgin." Elise said.

"yet, you seem ah, unknowledgeable in the subject..." Sam stated.

"whatever..." Elise muttered as she looked away from us.

'heh. the tips of her ears are red, that's new...' I thought to myself as I studied her.

'she really is quite the character, huh?' I chuckled internally.
