Chapter 36: Unfairness

The crowd was completely hyped for the battle. On one side there was the disciple of an Enlightened on the other side a warrior from among them one that they know personally. Even though they knew that Race was A disciple they believed that it will be Taron who wins this challenge. Race according to them is just little hatchling while Taron was already an established warrior. If Betting on them weren't banned most would have betted on Taron.

The Crowd went ballistic as they counted down along with the timer.

3....2...1...FIGHT!

Both Taron and Race rushed at each other Taron was the first to throw a punch as he was the one with longer reach, But Race was able to read his muscle movements easily guessing his move. Race slowly sidestepped closer to Taron and elbowed him in the gut. That was a heavy blow and it made Taron take a few steps back, clutching his stomach and gasping for air. Race did not follow up after the attack. He just stood their waiting for Taron compose.

" Don't tell me you are out of gas already. I thought this would be a bit interesting." Race said as he picked his ear.

" HOW DARE YOU" Taron yelled as he ran towards Race and just as Race entered his hands range, Taron stopped and started to throw much faster paunches though lacking in power hoping to catch Race off guard. They were so fast that noncombatants among the audience found it hard to follow the pace of the battle.

Even with Taron doing all his best, he was not even able touch Race. It was as if Race could see through everyone of his moves, So started integrate feints in his technique. But Race simply deflected the Fake punch with a slight nudge with his fist and landed a strong punch on Taron's face.

The Audience was stunned as they watched Taron fall to the ground. The silence completely overwhelmed the stadium. Nobody expected Race to be this good. Taron was grounded by one they thought to be just hatchling.

" If the Challenger is unable to continue the match will be over at the end of 10." The monotonous voice was heard.

1...2...3...4...5

Taron was completely livid as he never had the thought of losing to Race let alone this miserably .Seeing that he had no other way Taron bit on a pill that was stored in his mouth, a pill that was supposed to used only when his life was in danger, Releasing various chemicals that instantly restored his body to its peak. That was not the only after effect of the pill, as it also enhanced Taron's Metabolism making him much stronger than before being knocked down.

Taron slowly stood up once again. Anyone could see that veins have started to bulge all over Taron's Body giving him a menacing look. His entire aura was different. It was as if he was a beast.

" The Challenger has used a performance enhancing drug. The Challenged has the right to disqualify the Challenger." A pop up window appeared before Race.

" I Challenge you once again Race. If not for the unfair advantage of your origin I would have beaten you black and blue. Come on fight me. I doubt.." before Taron could complete his sentence the monotonous sound was heard again.

"The Challenge will continue in 3...2...1...Resume".

Taron looked at Race who had already taken a different and more serious fighting stance than the one that he had taken in the beginning. As soon as Taron took his fighting stance Race ran at him. Even Taron who was in an enhanced state found it hard keep track of Race movements.

Race closed the gap between the both of them immediately and sent a fist towards Taron's face. Taron had to Block it since the punch was too fast for him to dodge. But the power behind the punch was so strong that Taron couldn't help but take a few steps backwards.

And before Taron could completely followed through with another punch, sending him tumbling into an old stone wall of the stone ruin ( the emulated surrounding). Race then started to pummel him as Taron was trapped in a corner. The Battle will not end till one of them was knocked out or if one of them surrendered. But Taron couldn't surrender as he was being constantly bombarded with Race's punches, and he was kept awake due to the effect of the drug.

Then Race took a moment to coil up a much stronger punch sending Taron through the stone wall.

" You say that I won due to my great origin. you say that it is unfair. Well guess what, the world is not fair. You can cry out all day for fairness but no one is going to hear it. The world belongs to the strong and it is they who decide what is fair and what is not. If you find that someone is has better origin than you the only thing you can do is to train better than them, study better than them. Don't think you can get away with the bare minimum. Because your best efforts will only level the playing field ." Race spoke as he slowly made his way over to the battered body of Taron, who was barely conscious due to the drug he had taken.

" You say that my origin gave me an unfair advantage, you are right. You were never needed to fight for your life, like I had to. You never knew what it is like to be denied the rewards that you earned. You were pampered by the people here, even when your were acting like a jerk. You are right when you said my origin gives me an unfair advantage, as I had to face those stronger than me, while you were bullying the weak. You never knew how it feels to sleep on an empty stomach. Hell.. I could only sleep the bare minimum as I had to more than my peers to level the playing field. I won't deny that I wasn't lucky to be a able to perform that well on the Tournament to be selected as a disciple."

" I grew up in fire while you were sipping coconuts in the tropics. The you now will never catch unto me. Yes, this match was unfair, Because you were never a match for me. Nor for Magnus."

Race then walked away from him.

It was unknown whether it was due to his injuries, or the drug wearing off or due to sheer anger, But Taron fainted.

The Monotonous voice was heard again.

" The winner Race Smyth"
