Chapter 7

Mendung tanpo udan

Ketemu lan kelangan

Kabeh kuwi sing diarani perjalanan (perjalanan)

(Songs from Indonesia in Javanese. By title mendung tanpo udan. Singer Ndarboy Gank)

As usual. The 12th grade canteen is always bustling with impromptu concerts that are being held in the triumvirate. They are always rioting with guitars and canteen tables. Anything they can make into a musical instrument for an impromptu concert.

Awakdewe tau duwe bayangan

Besok yen wis wayah omah-omahan

Aku moco koran sarungan

Kowe belonjo dasteran (belonjo dasteran)

Nanging saiki wis dadi kenangan

Aku karo kowe wis pisahan

Aku kiri kowe kanan

Wis bedo dalan

This time the hit song from a Yogyakarta singer, entitled 'mendung tanpo udan' filled the corners of the cafeteria. Makes the listener want to join in the dance.

Mlaku bebarengan

Bendino sayang-sayangan

Sedih lan kebahagiaan

Dilewati tahun-tahunan

Padu meneng-menengan

Bar kuwi kangen-kangenan

Kadang bedo pilihan

Nganti pedot balikan (medot balikan)

Mendung tanpo udan

Ketemu lan kelangan

Kabeh kuwi sing diarani perjalanan

"Oa oe… gas bang!" Exciting Bagas excited.

When they returned to the chorus, there were several dancers taking positions and dancing virally to the accompaniment of the song.

"Wuhuuuu! Great bro!" Zain shouted with the dancers.

"Your voices are good too. Especially Nathaniel's guitar playing. Damn, you play really smart bro."

"Hahaha… It's okay." Nathaniel put the guitar next to him and sat down. He took the meatballs that were just delivered by the cafeteria lady. "Thank you, Miss.."

"You're welcome, sir."

"What if we collaborated at the school's anniversary event?" asked Jack. Dance club president.

"Later. I asked the chairman first. How is Dan?" Bagas asked Danu who was eating his meatballs deliciously.

"If it's me, it's ok. But later I'll try to ask the children too." Danu replied, turning to Jack.

"I'm ok, Dan." Bagas said.

"I'm okay too." Steven agreed.

"Now that's a lot of people agree." Patted Danu's shoulder.

"Oh, Andi and Oni. You just ask them once." Said Saci, one of the dancers.

"Oyyy Ndi, Oni! Come here you guys!" Zain exclaimed, waving at the two young men who had just entered the cafeteria.

"Why?" Asked Oni. These two are their juniors.

"This. The dancer child wants to invite the children to collaborate with the music club on their school anniversary. Don't you want it?" asked Danu as the chairman of the music club.

"We're okay okay." Andi answered, which Oni nodded too.

"Well, deal with it." Jack exclaimed again.

"Okay. Then I'll tell the principal if we just perform a collab." Danu agreed.

"OK! Yes, let's go first. Good luck bro!" exclaimed Jack going with his friends.

"Good luck."

"Sit here, you guys." Ask Bagas to shift his seat.

"Thanks." Andi said, sitting beside Bagas with Oni.

"By the way. Nathaniel is good at playing the guitar. Why don't you just join a music club?" Oni asked curiously.

Nathaniel is really good at playing music. And as far as they know, the fukboy guy is also good at playing several musical instruments.

"I'm just lazy. I have a lot of work anyway. If I can't be responsible for everything, it will all fall apart." Nathaniel explained.

"That's right. Someday, would you like to teach me some guitar tricks?" Asked Andi who actually plays guitar in his club.

"Can. But when I'm free, okay?"

"Shut up. Just call when you're free."

oOo

Time to go back to school. Was tired and hoped to be able to go home as soon as possible to lie on his soft mattress, but instead it rained. Really pissed off all the school kids. Swearing for sure.

Like Virza. The one who had been swearing all this time in the front hall of the tenth grade. Nanda was in a hurry to go home to pick up her mother at the mall. So Virza can't be helped as usual. And Iren, the spoiled girl, was invited to go out with her new crush. Curse indeed. If you're with a crush, just forget about your own friend.

"Damn it! This is how I get home."

I don't know how many times, the pale white guy cursed and grumbled.

Tut tut tut.

"Ah! Damn it! The turn needed cannot be contacted. Brother is useless. tsk."

His hands were fiddling with his phone again. Trying to contact one of her sisters again.

"Hallo!"

"Tsk. What's the matter? You don't have to rush!" It's fun from the other side, annoyed.

"Where are you?" To the point Virza didn't want to beat around the bush.

"I'm on campus. Why?"

"Please pick me up at school. Nanda left me home."

"I can not. I still have another class. It's about to come in. You just take the bus."

"It's raining heavily here! I can't get out of school. If I go out of the gate, I'll get all my clothes wet."

"Yes, you just order a taxi online. Let's get to the school yard."

"I don't have money."

"tsk. You poor."

"Don't be insulting."

"Just order. You can pay for it at home, right?."

"Uh, yes yes. Why didn't I think about trying it." Virza confirmed her older brother's words.

"It's useless to have a smart brain if you can't think."

"God, you talk a lot. OK, I'm dead. bye"

Virza hung up the call even before her sister answered again.

"tsk. Why is it so hard to get a taxi? It can be late if this is the way."

Virza moved restlessly. Fear of not getting a taxi online. If he forced his way through the rain he would definitely get soaked. And his body's resistance is not strong because the cold will definitely lead to pain. No! Virza doesn't want to.

"tsk. Where's the night again? Why doesn't the rain stop, too? Unlucky!"

"There's no need to swear a lot." Said a bass voice from behind him. "Poor it's raining if you keep saying that."

"Anjir! Don't scare you."

"Want to go home?"

"You already know the question."

"Judes is so."

"People like you should be judged. Fukboy."

Nathaniel chuckled at Virza's words. It seemed, the boy beside him really didn't like him.

"I don't think you really like me."

"Of course."

Nathaniel laughed again. Virza is so honest and doesn't hide her dislike at all.

"Want to be together?" Nathaniel asked looking up. He looked up at the sky, which continued to rain.

"No."

"Certain? Looks like the rain won't let up until tonight."

"I'm ordering a taxi online. Coming soon too."

"I guarantee. You won't get a taxi. At this hour it's hard to get a taxi online."

Nathaniel's words were true. The proof, it's been almost an hour since the young man still hasn't gotten a taxi. And it's raining even more.

"not together? If not, I don't have a problem. I didn't lose either." His hands went into his pants pockets.

"Did you bring a car?" Virza asked doubtfully.

Nathaniel laughed again. Felt funny with the question of the guy beside him. "If I bought a motorbike, I wouldn't offer you."

"Yes, I'm together." Virza finally broke up. There was no choice. He didn't want to stay at school either.

"Come on, let's go." Nathaniel's son was ready to make his way through the rain. "Why are you daydreaming?."

"Umm."

"Why?"

"I can't stand the cold."

Nathaniel was silent. Did not understand what Virza said.

"I can't rain. I could get sick." He squeaked at the end.

"Ohhh. Yes, wait a minute." Nathaniel took off the hoodie he was wearing and handed it to Virza. "Here hold it."

"For what?"

"Just hold on first."

Annoyed, Virza received a black hoodie. After that, Nathaniel ran through the still pouring rain to the parking lot. Virza sure, the guy was soaking wet.

Not long after, a black BMW X5 was parked in front of him. And out of the guy who always calls Fukboy from the car.

"Here." His hand took his hoodie earlier. And the next second, something that Virza didn't expect happened. Nathaniel. The fukboy boy covered his head with his hoodie.

"Let's go." Nathaniel's interruption brought Virza out of her shock.

"Hah. Eh, but you'll get wet."

Nathaniel raised an eyebrow. "Can't your eyes see it? I'm already wet."

Virza looked at Nathaniel. Sure enough. The tan-skinned guy was already soaking wet. Maybe because of breaking through the rain earlier.

"Come on."

"Um yes."

Nathaniel grabbed his hoodie and followed Virza to his car. After that he turned around and got into the driver's seat.

"Do you have towels?" Virza asked after getting in the car.

"What for?"

"Make yourself dry."

"Nothing." Nathaniel casually unbuttoned his school shirt.

"Eh, kamu mau apa?" Panik Virza. Kini Nathaniel sudah shirtless di sampingnya.

"I want to change clothes. There's no way I'm wearing wet clothes like this." His hands threw his clothes on the back seat.

"Did you bring a change of clothes?"

"If I don't bring it, I won't change my clothes." Nathaniel said embarrassed.

"Oh."

After changing into a black t-shirt, Nathaniel started his car out of school. It's getting dark and the rain is getting heavier.

"What area is your house in?" Nathaniel asked, focusing on the slightly slippery road.

"In the green gem."

"Okay."

There was silence in the car again. Nathaniel focused on the road and Virza just sat still.

"If you're bored, just turn on the music." Nathaniel said.

"Ah no. I prefer this quiet place."

Nathaniel was silent again. Likewise Virza until the black BMW car entered Virza's house complex.

"Go straight. Then at the first turn it's my house." Virza said, showing the way.

Nathaniel just nodded.

"Thanks for giving me a ride." Says Virza.

"You're welcome. The hoodie is for protecting your head again. Let's not get sick."

Virza wanted to refuse, but Nathaniel's next words made Virza obey.

"You can come back tomorrow."

"Ok. Thanks again."

Nathaniel nodded. After Virza entered the gate of his house, the young man returned to his car to go home.

This time. The rain is the place where the two of them carve a new story. Togetherness is short but can change Virza's point of view slightly on Nathaniel Axel.
