Shukashima POV

We got to an uncompleted bridge a few meters out of the city... Daniel told us all to get ready so that we could jump out of the car...Silva increased the speed of the truck.

As we drove right off the bridge and into the water underneath it.

Daniel and I grabbed the two blades in the truck and we all jumped out of the truck and into the water,the x-victims followed us... Daniel informed us that they find it hard to move in water,so it was our best way of escaping.

We were in the water and watched as a number of x-victims jumped in with us..."hurry let's get out of the water...they can't move quickly but they can still bite if given they are giving a chance" he yelled.

We started swimming in the direction of the water current.

I turned around and saw the x-victims snarling intensively at us.

Suddenly the water current became strong and was moving everything in the water forward including the x-victims.

We swam faster using the current to our advantage...the x-victims though being pushed by the current were trying to move on there own.

But lacking all human sense of reasoning they just kept rising and falling in the water.

"We are heading for a water fall...brace yourself"Daniel said.

We all went down the water fall and so did the x-victims due to the strong water current pushing them in our direction.

"Hurry!!...head for land"Silva said and we all swam towards shore. It was hard to keep up...I felt like the water it self would eat me.

The shore wasn't far from the water so it didn't take us long to get there.

I came out of the water then Veronica,Daniel and bridget.

Silva was heading to shore when he was suddenly held back by a x-victim...suddenly more x-victims ganged on him in the water.

"Silva no!"Bridget screamed and tried to rush back in the water to save him.

I held Bridget and placed her head on my chest preventing her from seeing the horror happening to Silva.

Daniel looked at Silva and tears began forming in his eyes, He fell on his knees to the floor and stared sorrowfully as Silva's body drowned together with the Xvictims..

Silva though he was being eaten by the x-victims smiled as if to say...he was glad that we made it...I had never felt so bitter like i did as I saw his smile.

Veronica held Daniel who was devastated by what just happened.

"We need to keep moving"she said to Daniel.

Daniel couldn't move he was still stunned by what happened.

Suddenly a xvictim came from behind and leaped at me,

Bridget saw it quickly and pushed me out the way making the x-victim land on her and bit her shoulder,she was able to punch it off her body but she fell to the ground just as soon as she did.

The x-victim rushed towards her again.

"Bridget no"I yelled and pulled out my blade,Daniel also pulled out his blade and we both attacked the x-victim's neck,

Daniel slashed from the front and I slashed from behind.

The head of the x-victim came off quickly and I rushed to Bridget to check on her.

I saw the bite mark on her shoulder....she was bleeding.

I quickly tore off both sleeves of my shirt, and placed one sleeve on her shoulder then used the other to wrap around her shoulder. Tightly.

Daniel ran towards Bridget,

pushed me off her,held her arm..."no-no-no,this isn't happening" he said his voice more worried than ever..

"Why-why would you let this happen to you?"Daniel asked Bridget.

Bridget gave a sad smile and told him it was just her instincts.

Daniel was furious and grabbed his blade by his side and looked at me.

The look on his face was clear he was about to attack me.

Veronica noticed his blood lust towards me and told him to calm down.

Daniel was just too furious to listen to her.

He charged at me,I evaded his attack and tried not to let my defense instinct click well enough to make me attack him back.

"Dude chill,why are you attacking me?...what did I do?I asked Daniel as I took my stance getting ready for another attack.

"You are the reason why she was attacked...why would you let your guard down" he replied and lashed out at me again,this time I used my blade to block his attack,and our blades clashed together.

We quickly entered into a battle of strength with both of us trying to push our blades and each other backwards.

"What are you saying,that could have happened to any of us...this isn't something to get mad at"I said trying to make him understand letting my guard down doesn't make what happened to Bridget my fault.

"You are still trying to justify yourself"he said and bent down and swept my feet off the floor.

He raised his blade up to attack me,just then Veronica came behind me and pointed a gun at his face.

" You try what ever you want to do,and I'll forget anything special we have and give you a new hole to breathe from"she said with a furious look on her face.

We heard Bridget voice telling us to stop fighting.

"What are you all doing,we just lost silva and you're are trying to kill each other is that a way to honour his death"she scolded ... crying as she walked up to Daniel.

"Do you think Silva would be happy seeing you like this"she asked Daniel and held his hand.

Daniel began to cry and dropped his blade.

He fell to the ground on his knees, Veronica dropped her gun and knelt towards him to console him.

"It wasn't Shukashima's fault...I choose to move him aside...please don't be mad at him"

Bridget said at made a slight groan and was about to fall back,I jumped in to catch her.

"She is getting weak cause of the virus,we need to find somewhere to rest"I said and looked at Daniel.

"We will need to go around this cliff to return back to the city...some people live around this area maybe we can find some abandoned house or vehicle to use"Veronica said, picking up Daniel's blade.

Bridget insisted we leave her here, saying since she will be a full x-victim by the end of the day.

I refused and told her that we will find a way.

"I was directed by ONE to go and look for a scientist,maybe he can help you"I said to Bridget.

"What makes you think he can help Bridget"

Daniel asked me..."and who's this One by the way?...." I didn't answer him fully..

" not sure but we can atleast try"I said to Daniel.

Veronica reminded us of her brother still in the city.

Daniel looked at her and said "first we need to find a place to stay...then you and Shukashima can go back for your brother at sun rise".

We heard a some snarls coming from some x-victims approaching us,they were still a bit far from us so Daniel told us to hurry and move.

He carried Bridget on his back and started running up the path the x-victim that attacked Bridget came from.

Veronica and I held the blades,she went forward as to protect Daniel and bridget from front and I followed from behind and guarding them from there.
