Chapter 11 - Join the Pack

“Who is this dude?” Lucas spoke in a frightened voice. His eyes scanned the 10 feet man from head to toe and what terrified him was the man’s eyes were glowing yellow just like the glowing green eyes he saw in the woods.

“His name is Stone, one of the werewolves,” Bonnie replied. On the Stone’s neck was a tattoo of a crescent moon and he was putting on a pedant of a crescent moon. “Lucas, are you with me or not?” Bonnie glances at Lucas in expectation of what he has to say. She was curious if Lucas has made up his made to come with her or not. She doesn’t want to engage with Stone knowing that Lucas will join them. She wants to be sure where his loyalty lies before she risks her life.

“Yes, I’m with you!” Lucas cried out frightfully.

“You don’t know what you are talking about,” roared Stone as he cast his mean gaze on Lucas. “You belong to us and I’m here to take you home with me!”

“He’s not coming with you, walk away now or get your ass kicked.” Bonnie stood her ground. She was a young but powerful witch. Although her white clan doesn’t kill with their powers, they can still defend themselves without killing anyone.

“You are a white clan witch and you can’t kill with your powers lest you turn dark,” said Stone. He laughed out loud knowing full well that any white clan witch that kills anyone with her power will automatically turn into a dark witch. Her white regalia and hair will turn black and everything about her will darken that they will not have keen attention to anything good or desires to be good. This is a part white clan witches do not what to walk on because it takes a thousand years to walk out of it.

Stone might have underestimated Bonnie but the truth is, she can still kick his ass without killing him. She orbs a white orb in her palm and blasted Stone with it knocking him down. She quickly grabbed Lucas and with a snap of her fingers, they both disappeared into white glowing light.

BONNIE’S MAGICAL STORE

They came to a smooth landing inside a mystic shop. “How did we get here?” Lucas asked with curiosity as he turns around staring at the magical items on the shelves.

“I told you I’m a witch. I possess the ability to disappear and reappear.”

Lucas has a lot of questions going through his mind. He moved from shelf to shelf as he caught a glimpse of a dwarf-looking woman with one ear larger than the other. He was frightened at her mean look. “Who is she?” he asked turning to face Bonnie.

“Her name is Ann, she’s my assistant.”

Ann has been serving the line of Bennie’s grandmother for a decade and whenever she’s getting old, she has the ability to put on a younger look of herself. She has been living for five hundred years. She has been one of the ancient witches’ servers for centuries. Her kinds are a race of dwarf-looking witches that often serves the witches, especially the white clan. They are the closest companion of every white witch and for centuries they have been proven trustworthy in every given task. They live longer than any white witch which makes it possible to even serve the next generation from the line of the white clan witch previously served. They possess more abilities than the white clan witches although they have never seen themselves as equal or superior to a white clan witch. However, dark witches due to the dark powers they possess have often shown they are not equal with the white clan witches or their dwarfs’ servers known as ‘Kik.’ The dark witches claim superiority over these two races of witches and always wants to dominate.

Ann walks out from behind the shelf where she was standing. With her eyes fixed at Lucas, she smiled. “You found him.” She walks closer to Lucas and forcefully grabbed his palm. “Your mother and your grandmother must be proud of you,” she said glancing at Bonnie.

“I know, but he needs to see things for…”

“Shhh…” Ann silenced Bonnie. She placed Lucas’ palm on her cheek and listens closely to his heartbeat. “He has not triggered his werewolf curse,” she mutters.

“Of course, I know that.”

Lucas wasn’t feeling comfortable about how Ann is acting strange to him. He pulled his hand away from her and took some steps back. “What is she talking about?” Lucas glanced at Bonnie. He didn’t get the memo about anything called the ‘werewolf curse.’

“I’m sorry; I didn’t have the chance to tell you about the werewolf course.”

“You have the chance now, so spill it out.” Lucas folded his arms with his eyes on Bonnie in expectation of further explanations.

“Tell him, he needs to…”

“Quiet Ann, allow me to do this!” Bonnie silenced Ann that she didn’t get the chance to finish what she has to say. Ann was eager to meet with Lucas but she was disappointed knowing he hasn’t triggered his werewolf curse.

The werewolf curse is considered as having the venom of a werewolf in one's system which allows the person to shape-shift into a wolf form during the full moon. Typically, one who has been turned is believed to have the curse of a werewolf running in him which also can mean good in the sense that they possess the ability of a werewolf which makes them supernatural creatures that can’t be killed except with special magical objects. However, to be able to manifest these supernatural abilities of the werewolf, the newly turned must trigger his werewolf curse.

“What the hell is a werewolf curse?” Lucas was growing impatient every second and needed answers if truly he has become a werewolf.
