“It’s not a good thing,” Bonnie lowers her head avoiding eye contact with Lucas.
“What do you mean it’s not a good thing? Is that the answer I seek? I’m here because I believe you have answers for me concerning what attacked me last night.”
“You mean who attacked you?” Ann cuts in.
“Enough Ann,” Bonnie snapped at her. She didn’t want to break the news to Lucas in such a manner that would make him want out. They have to take it slowly with him if they must get him on their side.
“I’m still waiting. What is the werewolf curse?”
Bonnie seeing the determination in Lucas’ eyes finally gave in to his curiosity as she opens her mouth to speak. “Werewolf curse is the ability of every werewolf to manifest supernatural abilities like, accelerated healing, accelerated speed, enhanced hearing ability, and the list goes on.”
Lucas’ mindset changed as he wondered why all these abilities are seen as a curse. “How is it a curse?” he asked.
“You have to kill to activate it.”
For any werewolf to manifest this or be able to shape-shift into wolf form, they must kill to provoke the werewolf curse. Although it’s in the nature of newly turned werewolves to display some of these abilities without triggering their werewolf curse. Lucas was able to experience accelerated healing but he wasn’t able to transform into his full wolf form after his eyes glowed and his fangs and claws popped out. Not every werewolf has to trigger the werewolf curse before they manifest the werewolf abilities. Having the venom of a werewolf makes it possible for the person to display some attributes of a werewolf but can’t fully transform until the werewolf curse is triggered.
When a werewolf is transformed into the wolf form, the werewolf is faster and will easily exhibit every werewolf's ability unlike when in human form. That’s to say, werewolves are stronger in their wolf form.
Lucas knows the penalty that will fall on anyone who kills another person. The law is clear and he doesn’t want to fall into that. He cast a scornful gaze at Bonnie. “That’s insane, I’m out of here,” he said.
Detective White is a noble cop. His son Lucas wouldn’t want to spoil the good name his father has earned over the years just because he wants to be part of something big. As Lucas heads straight to the door, Ann snapped her fingers. Mysteriously Lucas appeared where he was standing with Bonnie.
“What the hell?” he exclaimed. This isn’t the door and he’s quite sure he was about holding the door handle when he suddenly saw himself on the same spot he was with Bonnie. “What’s the meaning of this?” he asked.
“It’s not safe for you out there,” Bonnie replied.
“Neither is it safe for me here around you two!” Lucas yelled.
“I’m sorry but you need to…”
Lucas pushed back Bonnie’s words. He wasn’t eager to listen to what she had to say anymore. He’s fed up and wants to get back to the hospital before his father starts looking for him. “What I need is to get back to my father rather than being here with you and your freaks,” said Lucas as he frowned at Bonnie and Ann.
“I will not let that happen,” Ann said moving towards Lucas. “Your place is with us now and I won’t let those evil…”
“Enough Ann.” Bonnie gestured to Ann to keep calm. She turned and faced Lucas. “Do you want to go?”
“Yes, I do.”
ST LEO’S HOSPITAL
After Stone got his ass kicked by a white clan witch, he didn’t take it likely. He needed somewhere to unleash his anger and unfortunately for a female nurse on her morning routine to check on the patient, she became Stone’s victim when she walked into Lucas’ ward. Stone flicked around and forced his claws into the nurse’s chest ripping out her heart.
After this, he fled from the scene, Alicia walked in to check on Lucas after Detective White phone her that Lucas is awake. On getting into Lucas’ ward, she let out a loud cry on seeing the lifeless nurse lying beside her heart.
Detective White led his team to the scene to investigate the incident and his heart has been where his son is. He can’t find him nor can he get hold of him on the phone. He believed he has been kidnapped but by who?
“Dad!” Lucas called out from behind.
“Oh my goodness!” Detective White exclaimed in excitement as he runs to meet with his son. He threw his arms on him and kissed him on the forehead. “Where have you been?” he asked.
“I went out to have some air,” Lucas lied. He didn’t want his father to know some weird shit has been happening and even if he opens his mouth to speak to his father, will he ever believe?
“I’m glad to see you are okay?”
“Me too dad.” Lucas peeped through the door and saw the dead body of a nurse. He’s certain that this must be the handwork of Stone, however, he didn’t want to ask any questions for his father not to sense anything.
“Alicia has been here and she’s desperate to see you’re well.”
“Where is she?”
“Didn’t you see her at the receptionist hall while coming in?”
“No, I followed the back exit.”
“She’s seated over at the receptionist hall; you should probably go and meet her there.”
One of the cops approaches from behind and slowly tapped Detective White on the shoulder, interrupting his moments with his son. “Detective White, you need to see this.”
“See you later son, go be with Alicia.”
Detective White followed the leading of his junior colleague into the ward of his son that has now been declared a crime scene.
“Look what we have here sir,” said the junior colleague as he handed a sharp claw to Detective White.
“A claw? That’s impossible.”
“It’s now clear now that we are handling the case of an animal attack, sir.”
“I still do not believe. I need the surveillance footage of St Leo’s hospital for the last four hours.”
