"I want to know if you know something about this?" he asked, and this time, I was stunned.

"What are you talking about?" I asked, looking at him. I felt hurt. He would think I tried to hurt his father.

"I didn't mean to accuse you. But I wanted confirmation from you before I took any action. Let me tell you something. I trust you completely. I know you didn't do any of this?" he said, touching my face soothingly, but I still felt disturbed about his question. I felt hurt

"Is this the show you promised me?' I asked him

"No. I had prepared something huge for them, but they didn't fall for it." He said, sitting down on the couch

"What's happening? And why am I the suspect in this case."

"I don't know, but it's not a coincidence. Someone is trying to get you out of the way. But they are going the wrong way," he said, getting up.

"You stay here and don't open the door for anybody. Let me handle the police," he said, going out of the room.

"What have I gotten into? Is it wrong to fall in love with a rich man?" she asked herself, sitting on the bed.

A few minutes later, there was a knock at the door. I didn't answer. I heard a voice saying she was not there.

Peter!

I wanted to answer him but what I heard next shocked me

"I did as you asked. I made a coconut drink for him," he said in a low, gloomy voice

"That's good. Nobody should know I was involved. If you are caught, then you know what to do." Another voice said. It seemed familiar

'Isn't that James' mother?' I asked myself, listening to the voice

"When are you releasing my sister?" Peter asked

"Don't worry. Call her now. She is probably home." The voice said, and there was quite again

I felt betrayed. 'How could Peter do this to me?'

"Jane. Open the door. I know you are in there. I also know you heard everything." I was stunned. What was happening?

I didn't waste a moment and opened the door. He looked disturbed

"Peter. What's going on?" Why are you involved with the Watson family?" Why did you betray me?" I asked all the questions on my mind at him. I was baffled, not knowing what to believe anymore.

"I will tell you everything later. For now, what it's important is for you to relax and let us handle the situation." Peter said, but my mind was clouded.

"What do you handle? I heard she say you are the one that poisoned him and framed me." I asked with uncertainty

"That's what you heard, but there is more to it. I will tell you soon. Wait here" with that, he also left.

I was left with too many questions. My mind was full, and I started having a headache. A few moments later, I heard a commotion outside the door.

"Where is she?" someone asked.

"Ma'am. She is not here," Peter said, answering the woman. It was Loli.

"I know you are hiding her"

"I don't know where she is?" I heard Peter answering her

"Let that murderer come out." she kept on shouting that I almost burst out of the room.

"Ma'am. You better know what you are talking about. If she is proven innocent, then you will be sued for defamation," Peter said, trying to get the crazy woman away.

"I don't care. She ruined my marriage. I will deal with her." She shouted before turning going. I didn't hear much from there, but almost an hour later, James came back.

"What happened? Is everything settled?" I asked him, and he looked displeased

"Someone is playing tricks behind our backs." He said, pacing up and down

"It's okay. I will face them and prove my innocence." I said. I looked at his pained expression

"Don't worry; things will be sorted? My men are looking at the copy of the CCTV. We want to see if there was anything strange

I turned and looked at Peter, standing at the door looking at us.

He shook his head as if he knew what I was going to say. I wanted to inform James about what I heard from his mother.

I was looking at his pleading eyes. I did not say anything.

"I have talked to the commissioner. Though Mr. Roland is adamant about putting you in for attempted murder, I managed to buy us time," he said, looking disturbed.

"I will not allow anything to happen to you," James said, and I looked at his eyes that had reddened.

"I will not allow anyone to take you away from me again." He said, pulling me into a tight hug. "Not even my family," he said, placing his head over my shoulder.

Peter got out of the room and shut it from outside

"No one is taking me from you. Let's go see your father now. I want to settle all of this once and for all." I said, detaching myself from his arms

As soon as we reached the hospital, everyone seemed to want to eat me alive. Especially Loli and Mr. Watson. She walked and tried to stop me from entering the waiting room

"What are you doing here?" she asked fiercely

"She is my woman and soon to be a family member. You better get out of our way, mother. I think you have not got what I said a while ago." At the mention of something that they seemed to have talked about, she stepped aside, and I could see a trace of fear

Wait! What did he mean by me being a member of his family soon? That guy was crazy.

Soon two policemen came accompanied by the minister.

"Take her away, officer." Minister Roland ordered. Pointing at where Jane was standing with a cocky smile
