"Try it." James stepped in front of me and said sternly to the officer
"Boy. Get out of the way. I have no problem with you not loving my daughter. But I cannot allow you to humiliate her in front of those people. You will have to pay for your ignorance and not listening to warnings." The minister shouted, not caring about his words
"From what you are saying. You are doing this to vent for your daughter?" James asked, and I also looked stunned. Do they want to send me to jail for something I didn't do to vent for her daughter?
"I don't care what you think. You are here defending someone that tried to kill your father. Do you even have your family at heart?" he asked scornfully.
"What I do with my family is none of your business," James answered back. The aura he displayed at that time was too powerful. He looked different. Powerful for anyone to stop.
'It will be right for me to say you did this to my father to avenge your daughter." James said to the minister, and he looked stunned
"You!" he could not say another word looking at the way James was scrutinizing his face.
"Don't do something you don't know. How could I attempt to kill my friend? I have nothing against him." He explained in anger. I would pay millions to see his expression again. He seemed to have been drained of blood when James insinuated he had something to do with the event.
"You have nothing against him, but you have gone against my woman. So you want to use this against her." James said, looking straight into his eyes
"You. Who do you think you are to reject my daughter? I don't care about my relationship with your family anymore. If you don't marry my daughter, I will send this woman to prison and never come out." He threatened James, and I saw a slight change in him
"Try it if you can. I hope you are ready to bear your family's downfall all by yourself," James answered him back.
"What can you do to me? I am a minister and protected by the president. Let's see what you can do to me." He said, insisting on fighting against James, "Officers. Arrest her. No one has the right here to stop you." He insisted
"Well." James didn't say anything further but took out his phone. "Use plan B. I want to see the result now." He didn't speak much on the phone, but everyone looked at him, confused
A phone rang the next second as the officers moved forward to usher Jane away.
"Hello. What? Are my photos all over the internet and news? Bribe?" the minister answered the phone at that time.
The minister seemed to be running out of breath.
"No. Who did this? What?' he asked, looking at James in fear. He hung the phone.
"I am sorry. Officers. There is a misunderstanding. The miss here is innocent. Sorry for the trouble. Here take this as compensation for the waste of your time." The 180-degree change was astonishing
The officers did not say anything, but their faces spoke it all. They cursed under their breath.
"I am sorry. I will not interfere with your family issue. I will talk to my daughter to leave you alone. Please. Call them to take it down." He begged in humbleness
"Do you still want to fight me?'
"No. I don't dare," he answered. I saw James take his phone out and call the person again.
"It's solved. I don't want to see your daughter near my woman and me. He said before pulling me along with him. I looked at him in reverence. I have never seen him like that. He was so cool.
Mrs. Watson had been called to the ward as the whole drama was unfolding outside. She didn't know a thing.
"What is she doing here? Son. Do you know what you are doing? I know you don't want to listen to me, but she is evil. Look at what she did to your father. What if he could've died? She needs to pay for this." Mrs. Watson said, crying in front of her two sons and husband. Mr. Watson had woken up and in better shape. It was almost early morning. He looked like someone who was never sick in the first place.
"I didn't do it. Madam, if you have something against me, say it straight to my face instead of ruining my reputation. Have you seen what the social media is saying about me?" I said, having looked at a video going viral on the internet. Someone seemed to have created the whole story to make her seem like a homewrecker.
Mrs. Watson seemed surprised by that. She didn't think things would go that far, but whoever was doing that was doing her a favor.
"Is it not true? Today was my sons' engagement party. But look at what you have done. Do you think I will forgive you for this? You have placed the poor girl in a difficult position. She must be devastated." Mrs. Watson looked worried for Loli.
"But I didn't do this. If your son had decided to be engaged to the lady, I would not have involved myself in their relationship. But he loves me and chose me. What have I done wrong in loving your son?" James looked at me in surprise. I saw a slight smile at the corner of his mouth.
Mr. Watson woke up and looked at them.
"Young girl. I am sorry about what my family did to you." Mr. Watson. He shot his wife a stern gaze seeing she was about to say something.
I looked at him in surprise.
"I know you broke up with him before because of what we did to him in Singapore. He is a proud boy and didn't explain anything to you and carried his pain. But I was to tell you. He did not cheat on you. He was pressured and set up by his mother." Mr. Watson said, looking at his son. I was surprised to hear that from him.
I turned to find James looking at his father in a complicated gaze
"Son. She was not the one that tried to poison me. It was your mother here" Mr. Watson dropped a bomb right into their faces
