Plan revelation

"What?" James was so shocked that he asked again

"Yes. Come in, young man," he said, and I saw Peter coming in. I looked at him in confusion. What was he up to?

"Tell them everything."

"Sorry, Jane, I didn't tell you this at first, but I wanted to protect you." He started looking at me

"Tell me what is going on, Peter," I said

"Well. It seems Mrs. Watson heard everything you two talked about in the corridor. She came to me in anger. She had ordered someone to kidnap the lady am staying with, thinking she was my sister. I got a video of her being tortured. They said if I didn't poison Mr. Watson, they would kill her." He said, and my mind went blank for a moment. That was all going behind my back.

"How did she capture your sister in an hour?" I asked

"She had people stationed in the West city to follow everyone around you," Peter said, looking at the woman throwing him warning glares

"So all this time, she had me in the palm of her hand?"

"Yes. She had people infiltrate the company, but I had seen through some people before and never hired them. I didn't know they were working for her but had a bad premonition about them." Peter continued

"I saw one of the men that I had to send away among the men with my 'sister.'" Peter said

"Continue." James looked at Peter with a complicated gaze. I didn't know what he was thinking about, but he looked like he could eat someone alive.

"Well. I didn't know her plan, but I could not do it. Besides, if I had told Jane, she would've flared up. So I had to look for Mr. Watson." Peter said, looking at him

"Young man. You are brilliant." Mr. Watson said, walking up from the bed. He then removed all the tubes, throwing them away from him, "Ugh. I hate hospitals." He said. Mrs. Watson looked worried. She went to him.

"What are you doing? You are sick." She said, trying to stop from taking everything out

He swung his hand and pushed her away from him.

"Don't touch me. To set up the young lady, you are willing to go to the extent of risking my life. What kind of a woman are you?" he roared angrily at her. She looked ashamed, looking down. She didn't even dare look at her sons.

One thing I didn't understand was her other son was looking from the side, amused.

From the beginning, he did not speak. I didn't even hear his voice

He seemed to be enjoying the show

"Who said I am sick?" That was another bomb

"Then, then… you!' Mrs. Watson was dumbfounded. She did not expect something like that.

"Yes. It was a setup."

"Well, I went to Mr. Watson about his wife's plan. He thought it was better about pretending to the end than alerting them. He wanted to know to which extent his wife would risk his life" Peter continued the tale.

"So in the end. She stood there with the rest of the people looking at me, drying on the ground without calling an ambulance. That was the worst?" Mr. Watson said, thinking about the situation back there

"If I were poisoned as she intended to do, I would've died, and the young lady here be sentenced to death for something she didn't do." Mr. Watson said, shaking his head

"What a pity." At last, the quiet boy at the side said, walking to his mom

Everyone turned to look at him. He seemed to have anticipated everything

"Mom. You really are something. You are willing to kill your husband to get Loli into the family. What about us, your kids? Are you willing to sell us to get something else?" he asked, looking at them and walking out

"This family is something else. I am going back overseas. Nobody should call me if nothing important happens. I don't want anything to do with you guys. Bro, I am gone. Call me at your wedding. I will not miss it." He said, walking out. He suddenly stopped at the door and said, "ooh, I will only attend if it's the lady by your side you are marrying."

I was stunned

"I am sorry, honey. I didn't mean to hurt you. I knew the doctor would be ready at the hotel and take care of you." Mrs. Watson said, begging her husband.

"At the expense of my life?" he asked again.

"I am sorry. You know I did it to save our family from embarrassment. James was planning to stand Loli up at the engagement. I was afraid things would go bad with the Roland family. To save us from the embarrassment, it could only be you falling sick. That way, they will not cause us trouble." She tried to explain, but her husband could not buy any of it

"Henceforth, don't interfere in the lives of our children. They are free to choose whoever they want to marry. Look at Jerry. You have caused him to hate the family with what you did. Do you want to lose your other son as well?" he asked, pointing at the door.

I guessed that was his name, Jerry.

I wondered what made him hate his family except for his brother.

"You started like this, leading to his girlfriend committing suicide." My eyes almost popped from shock

"She was a gold digger. She was only using him." She justified her action

"But it was not up to you to decide for him." He said in anger.

"Young girl, I know my wife had wronged you. I hope you forgive her this time too. I will make it up to you in the future." He begged me. I looked at him, surprised by his action. How an honorable man like him could be stooped too low by his wife

"It's okay, sir. I will do it for James. He believed me and supported me." She said, looking at James

"That's great. You are welcome to my family. James, you have to take care of this young lady. She had been through a lot. Cherish her. Don't let pressure from anybody, including me, put you down," he advises.

"I will, dad." He said, intertwining his hand with my smiling

"You can go and rest not. And young lady. You have a very loyal subordinate and friend. Don't ever lose him." He said, and I smiled

"He is not only my subordinate and friend but also my elder brother," I said, looking at the gloomy Peter at the corner. He seemed down.

"And I am proud of him." When I said that, he threw me a big smile and ran to hug me. I was stupefied. James would not let any of that happen.

"Keep your hands to yourself. If you feel like hugging someone, come and hug me." James said to him coldly

"How could I hug a grown man like you?" Peter said, turning to go away. I could not help but smile at the situation.

"Honey. I am sorry," I could hear Mrs. Watson begging as we left. She looked pale.
