The voting session was a whole different thing. The numbers on the board were whirling from small to bigger. Everyone's eyes were fixed on the rising numbers and those who badly wanted the pieces were now under utmost panic and hope.
Finally, it came to thwart. The Mc walked back to the stage to announce the winner but he was stopped by a strong manly voice.
"I would like to greet these beautiful ladies and handsome gents." the manly voice spoke.
"James Witton?" Everyone spoke in unison. He rarely appears in public so it was an opportunity to have him here.
I was agape at the sight of my role model. Throughout my career, I have been greatly inspired by him. I couldn't thank Trevor enough for bringing me here. Even though I couldn't afford his designs at the moment, at least I could get his autograph.
The audience cheered as James gave his speech as well as thanked his fans and supporters
"I want to thank everyone for showing up regardless of your busy schedules. It's a blessing to me to have you as my inspirers in the journey of designing. Thank you." he spoke and the crowd applauded loudly. No matter how famous and successful he is, he still finds it useful to thank the people that have supported him. He started from nothing but he's now something. All because of his hard work and the people who. support him endlessly.
"Now, I will announce the winners," he stated and took one more look at the expectant audience.
Trevor looked at Linda and smiled triumphantly. This woman deserved love and protection. Then happiness.
"Well, the names are lined up here so I will start from the top," he exclaimed as he looked through the list of names them smiled slightly.
"Ann Larez." he started and the audience cheered. Ann Larez majestically and proudly walked to the stage. She received a pair of designer heels and a ticket to Jame's next show in Beijing.
"Sara Wallace," he announced the ninth winner, and she received a mini party dress.
They cheerfully applauded as he kept on handing gifts to the winners.
"Last but not least," he uttered leaving everyone curious. Who could it be? Such a lucky soul.
"Linda Williams," he announced and clapped his hands.
"What?" Linda said as she looked around to see if someone had a name similar to hers. As clear as she could remember, she didn't buy anything. She just voted for three people but how come her name appears here. They probably did a very very big mistake behind there.
Linda turned in confusion and looked at Trevor who was seriously applauding with the rest. He looked fine. He wasn't confused anywhere. His facial expressions were clear. What the hell was going on.
"Linda Williams, please come forward and take a picture with us.." Mr. James further called. At this moment, Linda went dumbstruck but Trevor held her hand and helped her walk up to the stage. He assured her with a smile and let go of her hand. She nervously walked to James Witton and took a couple of pictures with him. It was her dream that was happening at the moment. It was coming true and she couldn't help but shed a few tears of happiness.
I looked at James as he handed me an autograph and hugged me. He then brought out a wedding gown as the design I won. Like what? When did I even look at it? Besides, I had no plans to wear it at that moment.
My line of sight followed the sets on a confident gent who was steadily walking toward me. His steps were quiet but they made a sound in my heart. With his arranged tuxedo, he looked like a forgotten prince.
He smiled when he reached in front of me and with one knee on the floor, he opened his lips and...." Linda Williams, marry me and make me the happiest man." Trevor proposed to Linda in front of all the people that attended the fashion not to mention the reporters that were hungry for such big news.
Earlier he denied it but now he turned things around and proposed to her. It could hit #1 on the top search. The reporters hurriedly turned their cameras to the two not wanting to miss a step.
Linda blinked several times to make sure it wasn't a dream. First, she managed to attend such a big event. second, she was the winner of the competition she didn't participate in. Third, she is being proposed to in the crowd. Hell no. she should wake up before seeing herself as the world's best designer. She pinched her arm to wake up immediately but it was no dream. It has barely been two months ever since they met fatefully when they shifted to this city but he has made some of the dreams she had shine.
"Marry him marry him. marry him." the crowd was now hailing making her give in at last.
"Yes, I will marry you Trev," she said as some of her tears rolled on the sides of her eyes.
Carrying her? Yes. He proudly carried her as his happiness was higher in the clouds.
It was a different moment. They were both ready to start a new life.
Hazel gritted her teeth in anger as she watched the two propose and agree to be with each other. She wanted a different thing but they weren't corporating. Earlier, Linda shamelessly defined their relationship as boss and employee. What the heck?
Her motive was to get closer to Trevor. She wasn't fine being around Jonas. All her intentions of being around him were to get closer to Trevor with time. But right now he was proposing to a cheap woman.
Meanwhile at the miles corporation.
Everyone was looking at the news apart from Bella who was still busy with her work. The gossip was on the blaze. Their boss has been in love with their colleague.
"I saw how close they were at the camping site. I never thought they were in love." Brandon said as he walked to the elevator with Alan.
"office romance has gone to a level of a public proposal," Ava said and Bella happened to hear this.
