We pulled in front of the venue where my role model James Witton held his show. Different people from high profile were present at the show. Unlike the previous show, this was more expensive and I couldn't afford to attend it if I wasn't invited.
This time around, two strong men in black suits accompanied us as old Martins had commanded them. We passed through the reporters who were hungry for news concerning the last scenario in the parking lot with the mighty Carol.
My arm was intertwined with Trevor's as we stepped on the red carpet and paused for a few pictures. The reporters were not allowed to question it today since it was a professional event.
We went further inside to socialize before the function started officially. My eyes fell on Mr. James Witton who walked majestically in my direction.
"You're welcome, Miss Linda Williams. You're welcome, Mr. Trevor Martins." He respectfully greeted me with his dazzling smile.
"Do you mind if you pause for a few pictures wearing my recent designs before we officially open?" What was he even saying? Initially, I thought that being his fashion model I needed to the catwalk on the stage with judges all over the place but it was the other way.
My role turned out to be simple and cheering. Put on the most beautiful and expensive dresses then pause for two to three pictures.
"I will be honored." I simply said hiding my excitement.
I walked proudly and happily beside him as he led me to the dressing room. Models were being attended to in front of realistic mirrors. The thought of being between them made me excited since that was one of my childhood dreams. But unknown to me, Mr. James led me to another door which opened to a private dressing room.
The three ladies stood still inside the dressing room and didn't move until I sat down.
"I will wait outside. They are good, they won't chew you." he cracked a joke and I laughed loudly because he was being too funny.
The ladies did what they knew the best and in a blink of an eye, I looked like the king's bride. My hair was curled even more and placed on the side revealing my soft and delicate neck. Simple but classy makeup was resting on my flawless face and my diamond nose ring shone brighter than ever.
I smiled in satisfactory looking at the mirror. It wasn't like I didn't have makeup on when I came here but my looks were enhanced and beauty spoke around me.
I stepped out of the dressing room dressed in a pink knee-length evening dress. I could feel the silk it was made of touch my body delicately. I never thought that there was even a chance for me to wear such an expensive limited edition dress that everyone yearned for on earth. I paused for a few pictures on the red carpet before joining a table where Trevor was unblinkingly watching me.
I could feel lustful gazes on me as I walked slowly and steadily. I was a little bit nervous but I hid it very professionally. I mean a line of professional models lined up to get such a chance but failed, and I who knew nothing just got a chance and I couldn't afford to mess around even for a millisecond.
"You look stunning baby." Trevor lustfully whispered as he hugged me from behind, sending chills down my spine.
"Do you like the dress another man chose for me more than the one you chose?" I shamelessly asked as I grabbed a champagne glass from the waitress.
Without our knowledge, our pictures of hugging like that were taken continuously.
The function soon started and this time the designs were less than thirty. Your money was what stood for you in the queue to get a single dress.
I warned Trevor for the last time when the show started not to buy anything for me. He had spent a lot already and it wasn't really necessary. To me, every penny counted and the same went with him but for some reason, he wanted to spoil me with every luxurious thing. Be it jewelry, shoes, or expensive brand clothes and bags. He was willing to pay the price. However, that's not what I wanted and I tried making him understand tonight.
The lights in the audience were dimmed while the stage lights were white bright. Models walked in showcasing the elegant outfits and the audience applauded happily. The show went on extremely well as the reporters were only allowed to take pictures so I wasn't nervous today.
I was extremely tired by the time we got home. I had been socializing, and taking pictures and it was all tiresome. Newbie fashionistas wanted to have pictures with me since I was James Witton's annual fashion show special model. I was meant to shoot for his annual magazine next month and that was a chance worth celebrating in a lifetime.
I stood under the cold water that washed away my tiredness. My legs were weak and tired so I hurriedly went back to my room and lay on my bed with a sleeping gusto. The temperature was super cool giving me a thousand reasons to sleep evenly comfortable.
Without thinking about anything, I pressed my eyelids together and went into a deep slumber.
Trevor stood on his balcony as he sipped on the sweet red wine. The cool swept through his messy hair as he had just finished showering.
His father's words rang in his mind and he sighed heavily looking at the city with many colored lights.
"You've had a chance to get a serious girl in this life. You should hurry and marry her before she gets famous and forgets about loving you."
He sipped his wine again wondering if Linda would do such a thing. His father had warned him about Carol but he was stubbornly in love at the moment that he didn't give it a thought. However, it came to pass as Carol cared more about money, fame, and rich men mostly those that had a strong hand in the entertainment industry.
The thought of Linda leaving him or cheating on him gave him a sad feeling. He wished her success in the two powerful industries. That is the entertainment industry and the fashion design industry. She was a determined and hard-working lady not to mention her good looks and of course good luck.
He had been in the fashion design industry and had worked with top-notch models. He knew that men liked using beautiful young girls in the name of promoting them. He was so worried that maybe, she could get carried away one day and follow the same path.
He clearly remembered the days he met Carol. She looked so cute and innocent with short blonde hair and green puppy eyes. She had a dream of becoming an international model. He accompanied her to her workouts, and late-night shows and supported her in every aspect.
She was hard working and hardly had rested since she claimed that she wanted to get famous at a young age, earn lots of money, produce two beautiful kids and retire early.
They visited many beautiful places together and had a lot of happy memories. His schedule was a busy one since the whole of miles corporation was in his hands at a young age but he had time for her.
Chris understood him better and he helped their relationship grow bigger as he prepared surprises to stand for his boss on his busiest days.
He squeezed the glass tightly as he remembered all these. For a certain unknown reason, he was so angry with Carol even when he thought he had moved on. She was ungrateful and greedy, not worth any man's sincerity.
"It's every man's bad luck to meet you in this life, Carolyn." He cursed as he entered his apartment and locked the door behind him.
By the time he went back to his room, his head was spinning a little bit. He drank almost two full bottles of sweet wine in a few minutes of standing on the balcony. He didn't realize until now that he felt dizzy.
"shit." he cursed inwardly and threw his tired body on his fragrant soft bed and entered the dream Land with a clear smile.
'The James Witton annual fashion show's magazine.'
It had only been three days since the show was held and the magazine was already on market.
On the smooth book cover laid a magnificent picture of the couple where the man in a tuxedo black suit passionately hugged a beautiful not too tall lady in a limited edition pink dress.
They both smiled lovingly as if they paused for the picture but they didn't. It wasn't a pause but a real scene. Happiness was evident on their faces and it was worth being chosen as the annual magazine's cover.
In a quiet dim lighted room, Carol angrily threw the magazine away cursing loudly
