In a large bedroom designed in ancient European style, the lights were dim and it was peacefully quiet.
I jumped in the exquisite large bathtub that was filled with warm water and gave my muscles a chance to relax.
I had a great evening playing with old Martins and aunt Joanne as they are cool people. Almost a bigger percentage of their words was about having a grandchild. It seemed like a simple thing when they uttered it but it was a flawless trigger to me.
I hadn't thought about having children yet since I was still trying to find a brighter future. I never gave it a thought because I wasn't prepared anyway be it physically or mentally.
Even though Trevor was rich enough, I wasn't already. I didn't want to depend on him anywhere so I had to work hard for now before considering having a family.
Sighing quietly, I stepped down on the magnificent black marble floor with my bare feet till I reached for my slippers. I was super relaxed after a warm shower as I joined Trevor in the bedroom.
It was his childhood room though some changes were made according to him. His childhood and college photos were hung on the wall steadily and his books filled the small study in the corner.
We headed for the master bedroom that was staged in the middle of the large room. The bedsheets and pillows were pure white. It was my policy to sleep on the right side and today was the same.
I slowly placed my head on his hard chest and drifted to a deep slumber. The next morning, I woke up to the sun rays that peeked through the window.
Trevor was being naughty last night and he woke me up numerous times but I didn't corporate. I was at his parent's house and I couldn't afford to do such a thing.
I was still yawning when my phone rang loudly. I stretched my arm and reached for it on the nightstand. Initially, I hesitated to pick it up because it was an anonymous call. I didn't expect a lot of people to be calling me since I didn't have such many contacts.
"Hello, Linda Williams." I didn't respond as I tried to digest the voice on the other side.
"Linda Williams, are you there?" The male voice rang again and this time I spoke.
"Who is it please?" I asked.
"It's James Witton." I didn't expect his call this soon and I had not saved his contact.
"I'm sorry to call early in the morning but I wanted to invite you to my show ' stuck with him ' tomorrow evening. Are you in?" What did he mean by am I in? That was my dream and I could willingly go miles to fetch it.
"I'm absolutely honored to be invited on such a show, Mr. James. Please send me the location and I will truly show up." I stated with happiness covering my voice.
"Ok then," he concluded before he hung up.
I jumped cheerfully after placing my phone back down. I rushingly advanced for the garden to inform Trevor about this.
A tall back hugged by a tight short sleeve shirt stood relaxed under a palm tree that stood firmly beside the large swimming pool. I rushed toward him before hugging his arm and spreading the news to him.
He always supported me and today wasn't an exception as he was extremely happy for me.
We joined Old Martins and aunt Joanne for breakfast and as yesterday, we were all happy as the elders teased us. Their demand for a grandchild was higher than I expected it to be but I shrugged off the thought of telling them how I wasn't ready.
Trevor observantly looked in my direction to capture my reaction whenever they mentioned having a child. I just tried hard enough to act happy and ready to give them hope. However, Trevor had discussed it with me the previous night and I just assured him that we shall have a kid as soon as possible.
Without anybody's knowledge, I used birth control because I wanted to own something before having children. My dream was, of course, to own a fashion design company and I I couldn't afford to misstep anywhere.
"My daughter, how about taking care of the company together with Trevor?" Old Martins suddenly uttered surprising everyone at the table.
Like how? He just got to know me and he wanted me to have an arm in the company.
I looked at everyone, they all gave me meaningful looks that I couldn't protest.
"I will think about it." I simply replied with a convincing smile. That was none of my motives. They were so supportive but I couldn't just say yes to everything they have to offer.
By the time we left the Martins mansion it was already 11 am. I was so happy to have had a good time in a short period of meeting the man who sat beside me. My mind went on to all the things he had given me and I was forever grateful.
We parked in front of a tall and magnificent building with the name logo ' Locom designers.'
In a gentlemanly manner, Trevor opened the car door for me to step down. He held my wrist and we walked inside the building hand in hand.
"What are we doing here?" I asked because I had to.
"You will know when we are inside." he simply responded as we went inside.
"You're welcome to Locom jewelry Mr. Martins. Welcome Miss Linda." the lady dressed in a black suit greeted us and led us inside. I was surprised and confused about how she got to know me but I shrugged it off. We were led to a magnificent couch in a private room and served water.
A few minutes later, another lady dressed like a model walked toward us with jewelry boxes before placing them on a glass table and Trevor reached for them.
"Didn't I ask for the best ones you have?" Trevor complains after a moment of keenly looking at them.
To my taste, they were the best and the prices alone were my year's salary but that wasn't his taste.
"I will bring the remaining ones, sir!" with that, the lady left and came back after a few minutes with one elegant box. The box alone defined what was inside.
My eyes narrowed widely as I glanced at the bright shining diamond necklace that reflected the sun's rays. If I said that the previous ones were stunning then my taste is the worst in this world. My hands itched to grab it but I controlled them.
"Then why were you keeping it from me earlier," Trevor spoke but his voice was unfamiliar to my ears this time. He seemed satisfied and I heard the lady sigh in relief.
"Let's do this," he spoke while putting the necklace under my loose hair. My hands slowly moved up to my neck and held the necklace excitedly.
"Thank you!" I whispered sweetly and my voice was emotionally full.
"Don't mention that word again or else.. " he paused and held his chest.
"Or else my heart will pain." he joked and we both laughed loudly forgetting where we were.
The service lady's gaze was a jealous one but I didn't dare give it a thought. Trevor was mine and I didn't need to be insecure in any aspect.
It was fast enough the day to attend Mr. James Witton's fashion show in NYC. I brushed my hair straight before curling it carefully. I looked at the dressing table and the sparkling diamond caught my sight bringing a dazzling smile to my face.
My elegant black evening gown was hands-on made by Cara the fashionista and it was a whole bunch of beauty. The sparkling white heels were also placed in an attractive spot.
I looked in my dressing mirror three more times to make sure nothing was missed since I was attending a high-profile event.
I had trained enough to steadily walk in high heels and it wasn't a difficulty for me anymore.
I glanced at my wristwatch for the last time before I left the room and it was yet time to leave.
If I thought that my look was super elegant and classy then I deceived myself. A tall defined man with tanned skin and we'll trim black hair stood amidst the empty hallway with an eye satisfying look.
Ranging from his tuxedo black suit to his tuxedo shoes he looked like a long-lost prince of the West. His bright blue eyes answered every question in my flattering heart. My line of sight fell on his crystal blue sparkling wristwatch that hugged his wrist perfectly. He was a definition of charming and handsome.
For a moment, I felt bad staying beside a handsome man like him. I couldn't help being insecure if someone glanced at him twice.
After all, he was the god of good looks.
