What’s Going On

Five months later.

Jeanohntae has gotten use to the over exerting pile of work she has everyday. Kensia and Adrian was sitting in Jeanohntae's office on the couch. They were helping her sort out all the important documents and files. Jeanohntae was typing away on the computer, when she looked up at the two hard working people in front of her.

"Thank you both so much." Jeanohntae said. Adrian and Kensia both looked up in confusion. "Thank you for what Boss!?? I mean Ms. Jean." Kensia asked.

Jeanohntae smiled and tilted her head slightly. "It's just…" Jeanohntae paused for a bit. "You guys help me everyday and I don't think I've thanked you guys enough."

Adrian started laughing. He was her best friend, but he still remained professional. "Ms. Jean, it is our job to help you. After all, we are your assistants. If we did not help you, we would be useless here." Adrian said with a smile. Kensia nodded in agreement.

Jeanohntae did not have anything else to say. She smiled and went back to typing on the computer. She did not want to disturb them anymore from their work. 'They are such hard workers. I am so grateful for them.' Jeanohntae said in her head.

Hours had passed when Jeanohntae's phone started ringing. "Hello!??" She answered her phone with a sweet voice. "Are you ready to go home yet!??" Christian said on the other end of the phone.

Jeanohntae looked at the time and it was already five minutes past five o'clock. "Oh gosh I didn't realize the time." Jeanohntae out her head in her hand. Christian looked worried on the other end. "Jean, what's wrong!??"

Jeanohntae sighed helplessly. She did not respond back to Christian right away. She looked at Adrian and Kensia first. They were glued to their work that they too did not notice the time. "Adrian, Kensia. You guys can go home already. I finish the rest."

Adrian and Kensia stopped their work and headed out of Jeanohntae's office to go home. Adrian was worried that Jeanohntae might overwork herself, but he could not disobey his boss. He decided to just go home.

Christian was still waiting for Jeanohntae to respond. "Jean, are you okay." Jeanohntae sighed. "I'm sorry Chris. You can go ahead and go home. I still have a mountain of paperwork to do. I'll be home in a bit." Jeanohntae hung up the phone and started finishing her work. She still had so much to do.

Not even ten minutes have past, when Christian came barging into her office. "Chris, I thought you went home already. I said I was still gonna be here for a little while." Christian sat down ignoring her. "Why did you not come to me!?? I could have helped you so you could finish faster." Christian said with disappointment.

Jeanohntae looked at him apologetically. "I'm sorry Chris. I did not want to bother you. You already have your own work to do." Christian flicked Jeanohntae forehead lightly. She looked at him surprised. "What was that for Chris!??"

Christian smiled. "That is for thinking I won't be able to help you. I told you already, I will always be here. If I have to stop my work to help you with yours, then I will do that in a heart beat. Don't think that you have to do everything by yourself. That is why you have me."

Jeanohntae smiled at his words. Christian took half of the work and sat down on the chair. "Besides, I just did not want your tiny brain to overwork itself. It might already be at full capacity." Christian started to chuckle.

Jeanohntae looked at him with wide eyes and started to laugh. They were the last ones in the office working late. Christian felt a little weird sitting on the opposite side of a desk. He would usually be the one sitting behind it. However, he was happy. Jeanohntae was the boss of her own department.

It took them an entire hour when they finally finished the work. Jeanohntae and Christian stood up to stretch. "Come on. Let's go home now." Christian said. Jeanohntae happily nodded.

When they got downstairs, Joseph and Rudy were already waiting for them. "Hurry up slowpokes. We have been waiting for so long" Joseph yelled from the driver seat while Rudy was in the passenger.

Jeanohntae was confused as to why they were there. "What are you guys doing here!??" Jeanohntae said. Rudy started to laugh. "Chris said you guys were working late. He asked us to pick you guys up and send the drivers home."

Christian looked at Jeanohntae and smiled. "I did not want them to wait for us, so I told them that they can go home." Jeanohntae smiled and got into the back seat with Christian.

They stopped by an ice cream cart to get some delicious icy treats per Jeanohntae's request. They happily drove home while Joseph and Rudy were singing with the radio. Jeanohntae and Christian were laughing in the back seat watching the live concert of grown men acting like teenagers again.

They were almost home when Jeanohntae got a phone call from Leah. "Hello!??" Jeanohntae quickly answered her phone. "Ms. Jean, please come home quick. It's an emergency." Leah was talking frantically. She sounded so scared. "Leah, what's going on!?? Are you okay!??" Jeanohntae asked worriedly.

Joseph turned down the radio and all three men became silent. Christian asked Jeanohntae for the phone. "Leah what is going on!??" Christian asked.

Leah's eyes lit up when she heard Christian's voice. "Mr. Christian. Please come home quickly and help us. It's an emergency." Christian's eyes darkened. "We will be home soon. Stay where you are." Christian did not say anything more and hung up the phone. "Dad, speed up. We got to hurry home." He demanded Joseph.

Christian did not need to question Leah about what was going on. Jeanohntae trusts Leah wholeheartedly. So Christian trusted Leah that it was a real emergency.

Joseph was confused but stepped on the gas. When they reached home, they found Leah standing outside scared while Butler Lu tried to calm her down. They car barely parked when Jeanohntae and Christian bursted out of the car to comfort Leah. "Hey, what is going on!?? Are you okay!??" Christian asked.

Rudy and Joseph was already by their side when Leah looked up and pointed to Christian and Jeanohntae's bedroom window. When all four looked up, they saw a figure of a woman looking out at them. Then from behind the woman, was a tall man looking out at them as well.
