Chapter Fifteen - The Monkey and The Moon

"Old friend?"

"She's my-," Klaus was interrupted by Chloe. Her Irish accent was calm yet intimidating.

"Long time no see, love. How are you?" Chloe said with a cheerful smile.

"Chloe. Why are you here? At THIS school?" Klaus replied holding back his anger.

"Well, father got transferred here by the head of the company, who I believe is your father. So the whole family had to move. Isn't that grand? " Chloe replied.

"Wonderful," Klaus' words were empty. It was like he wasn't trying to hide his discontent.

Chloe continued to look and smile at Klaus, ignoring everyone else including Samantha who he was still holding by the waist.

"Anywho, I believe we are in the same class so I hope we can catch up like OLD times," Chole said looking at Samantha's discontent.

"We probably won't because I need some quality time with MY girlfriend," Klaus replied looking at Samantha in awe. Like he remembered why he became the boy he is today.

Chloe's expression became grim. She looked at Samantha and said, "Oh sorry, Klaus distracted me and I didn't see you, yeah? My name is Chloe Kimberlight. Nice to meet you."

"Likewise," Samantha replied muddled.

Chloe paused, " So you're his girlfriend? What's your name?"

Samantha felt a cold shiver up her spine. Her instinct told her to be wary of this girl. A girl who knew Klaus before her. She couldn't help but wonder about their history. Were they just childhood friends?

"Samantha Diaz." She replied.

"Well, SAMANTHA, it's a pleasure to meet you. Anyway, I will be taking my leave."

As Chloe walked away, Klaus' grip tightened around Samantha. He was holding back his rage which everyone there noticed.

"Oh deary, I almost forgot! Mr. Myers sends his regards. He'll be coming to the States soon to see your father. Please do remember the Monkey and the Moon, Klaus."

Klaus' grip got tighter and he's arm began to shake. However, his arm didn't shake because of anger but fear. Klaus was overwhelmed with fear after he heard 'Mr. Myers'. Samantha noticed he's unease was getting the best of him and she gently grabbed him with both arms, pulling his attention towards her.

"Hey. Did I ever tell you about the time I fought a bear?" She said with a gentle smile.

The statement puzzled Klaus that he just laughed, "What? A bear? No offence but you'd be eaten in an instant."

"Nope. You would save me in the knick of time."

Klaus realised that Samantha's intent with that eerie statement brought him back to earth. "Thank y-," He was interrupted.

"Excuse me, we're still here, you know," Bridgette interjected.

Klaus and Samantha completely forgot about their friends.

"Sorry," Samantha chuckled.

"So, who the heck was that snob? What did she mean by the Monkey and the Moon, eh?"

Jeffrey gutted Bridgette on the side, "We'll see you guys in AP math, Okay? Come on guys."

Jeffrey dragged Bridgette by the hand with Nicole and Paul, who were walking beside them. The group seemed to understand what Bridgette couldn't.
