Chapter 28: The Dangerous Jungle

In just a short time, the bus arrived at an empty clearing.

There was no one else around and all the passengers seemed to have disappeared in a hurry.

Su Yun then began his long jungle exploration.

He still did not know where he should go, so he just strolled through the dense jungle.

If any of the other passengers saw Su Yun walking so leisurely, they all would be very anxious.

He did not have any weapons in his hands, nor did he wear any kind of armor.

He just carried ordinary travel equipment.

He looked as if he came all the way here to make a joke.

Even so, he did not worry about himself at all. He does wear "protective armor". In fact, it was wrapped quite tightly around him.

His spiritual power was constantly fluctuating around his body.

There was a grade one black wolf in front of him.

Without thinking, Su Yun kicked it.

The beast instantly turned into a pile of bloody mud.

Then, he started a one-sided slaughter.

With each punch and kick of different strength, he could take down some different low-level fierce beasts.

Su Yun found that it felt good to freely display his power.

Not long after, two flaming chickens fell down from the sky.

Su Yun felt a faint sense of danger.

He looked around and did not see anything different.

He exerted strength with his legs and jumped, instantly landing himself on a tree.

The area where he stood before had traces of flames.

Are these flaming chickens?

Its entire body was red, its feathers were like needles, and there was a small fire cloud at its tail.

The creature's appearance was simply incomparably powerful!

A flaming chicken with extremely strong explosive power among grade two beasts.

Suddenly, a huge flaming fist appeared in front of Su Yun's eyes, and it charged towards the tree where he was standing on.

Boom!

A huge fire instantly engulfed the entire tree.

Then another rage of fire was heading his way.

"[ Flaming Skin ] activated!"

"[ Demonic Ape Body ] activated!"

"Bid! Successful!"

Su Yun directly pulled out a large tree and threw it towards the flaming chicken that was flying in the air.

The flaming chicken crashed onto the ground, and Su Yun tore off its thigh.

"Hmm, this drumstick tastes pretty good!" He ate and studied it.

The flames of the flaming chicken were protected by the fire needles on its skin.

Once its defense was broken, the flame chicken would be ignited directly from its own skin.

And, it made itself very delicious.

It was like a wild roasted pheasant without needing firewood to cook it!

After eating the flame chicken, Su Yun realized that his backpack was completely burned by the flame chicken's fire.

Luckily, his clothes were fine, but his plastic bottle of water was burned away.

After all that exercising, he was getting a little thirsty.

He needed to find a water source as soon as possible.

He picked up his phone and saw that there was no signal, which was understandable.

If he wanted to have a phone signal, he had to be closer to a corresponding base station.

It wasn't that there weren't any base stations built outside the base city. It was just that after they were built, fierce beasts that were more sensitive to these signal transmitting towers, were usually destroyed.

The loss outweighed the gain.

Since there was no signal outside the base city, killing, robbing, buying and selling were all very common as long as they were not caught.

There were a large number of deaths outside the base city every day.

And the occurrence of these incidents have also increased the frequency of martial artists sacrificing themselves.

As a result, the martial disciples were forced to join the battle on the front lines.

Originally, martial disciples were only needed to patrol the base city.

But now, they were sent out to contain these illegal activities outside the base city.

Su Yun took out the "Leaving The City Guide" handbook from his pocket and began to read.

That's not right… Why would a grade two flaming chicken appear here?

But he quickly gave up on analyzing the situation and continued to head deeper into the jungle.

He picked up another, presumably, passenger's backpack he found on the way, and after drinking some water, he found a lot of information from this bag.

While reading, he heard a sound from the grass.

He looked up.

Not far away from where he was standing, there was… a walking grass?

The walking grass looked like a plant with round legs and had red beady eyes.

The walking grass pulled out a total of five green leaves from its head. The tip of the middle leaf bent backward.

It jumped over and over again, but it didn't have time to hide amongst the grass.

It looks like it wants to surround me?

Su Yun looked at the ten walking grasses around him and was a little speechless.

This stupid thing.

"Could it be that natural excretion made the walking grass feel the fertility of the land?"

"Speaking of which, doesn't this thing travel at night? Why would it appear here in the middle of the day?"

Are the walking grasses walking towards a certain direction?

Su Yun once again jumped onto a tree branch and used the leaves to cover himself, camouflaging his entire body from view.

Hiding was the most effective way to kill the fierce beasts outside the city.

With his current strength, it was almost impossible to kill all of the ferocious beasts himself.

Since it was impossible to kill them all, then he didn't need to .

He doesn't need to waste his time on that.

Focusing all of his attention on completing the target mission was the way to go!

After the time it took to brew a cup of tea, the group of walking grass disappeared from his sight.

Su Yun was here to train his strength, not to throw his life away.

"Fortunately, I didn't need to fight just now. There were a hundred of them. No, there were three hundred of them!"

Just then, Su Yun saw another ten or so golden beetles.

The creature's whole body was golden and was the shape of a giant beetle, hence the name.

Their defenses were very impressive.

Moreover, without a top-tier transcendent weapon, he would not be able to break through their skin.

The eyes of these ten or so golden beetles were red, and they were gleaming with a bloodthirsty gaze.

Su Yun realized that the creatures he encountered today were a little strange.

To his knowledge…

Generally these beasts would not coexist harmoniously.

They would all kill each other.

Otherwise, how could humans have survive?

And there were only two reasons that could explain why these monsters gather together without attacking each other.

One, there could be high-level beasts among them that would give all the order to the rest of those creatures.

Or two, there was someone or a beast who had the ability to control the mind, which then could control a large number of beasts.

Although there were many different kinds of beasts that had gathered in front of him, there wasn't even a single grade three beast.

Moreover, the eyes of these beasts were tainted red.

It was a sign that they were gathered here by the influence of some mind control.

Su Yun felt the earth shake from where he was hiding by the tree.

The entire jungle was shaking!

It was as if an earthquake was about to happen.

Su Yun climbed up the treetop and looked into the distance. A large group of beasts were attacking in a certain direction.

Su Yun jumped on top of the treetops and went over to see what was going on.

Half an hour later, he saw a group of martial artists in uniform gathered together.

They were surrounded by fierce beasts. Even the sky was filled with them!

There was no hope of escaping in the eyes of these martial artists.

"We're dead for sure. What attracted the fierce beasts here?!" A capable martial artist said with an angry expression on his face.

"Is it this egg?!" The martial artist's body was trembling as he slowly took out a red egg from his backpack with both of his hands.

"What is this? Don't you have any brain? What's the use of this thing!"

As he spoke, a dagger pierced through his chest.

The red egg was thrown far away.

Yet, the ferocious beast did not leave its gaze from the men.
