The House in the Village

The unknown and infected lady was grasping for air as her eyelids began to sink backwards.

"This is my time. Thank you girls for being my family." She said.

The energy in the room was thick and only appeared to Mari, it was like she was experiencing the full blast of the sun in the desert habitat. The energy swelled around the lady on the ground and started to shake uncontrollably.

"Help" said the First Lady who pointed out the infected.

She was groveling on the floor and reaching out to the infected one with tears running down her horribly swollen eyes.

"This won't be the last time you see her." Said Mari.

Although the energy surrounding her was thick and mysterious, Mari felt a relaxing jolt run through her body as if she was being brushed by the hand of good fate.

"Geugh-" the infected lady cried.

The pain inside her body was disappearing and along side was her the person who she once was. She felt this and smiled, because she knew deep down that any chance to be of use to anyone or anything was a life worth living.

Her tattered dress slowly rose with the body of this female and stopped as she took a knee.

"I am Cameron. A simple servant to the goddess and under your protection." She said.

"I'm sorry my lady, but what?" Mari nearly yelled.

At this point Mari knew nothing dangerous was coming but couldn't help but be so surprised as to what had just occurred. She didn't want to put her emotions out on display but unfortunately due to the unprecedented amount of fatigue built up in her body and mind she couldn't help but put her security down.

Mari had no idea what had just occurred. The other ladies stood by in complete disarray and were left speechless. Their best friend Cameron who was a simple berry picker a moment ago had just risen up and brought herself to a knee.

"Who?" Asked the beaten and horribly weak lady.

"Through your will to see what would happen next, the goddess has bestowed me an opportunity to prove myself to you general candidate." Said Cameron.

"Although my body was not meant for war, through the direction you choose general candidate I can improve. I am in your hands." Said Cameron.

Now that Cameron brought up her fragile body, Mari snapped back to what was happening in front of her.

"This lady?" Thought Mari.

The lady in front of her wore a tattered dress and was the most obvious thing about her. It was the first thing that Mari saw, but now that the situation changed she decided to take a better look at her.

Cameron had long violet colored hair, piercing bright white eyes and in fact had a fragile body just like that of Vola.

"Do you have the ability to recall?" Asked Mari.

"Yes general candidate."

"So please tell me what you know about your situation."

"General candidate, the three of us were brought here under the assumption we might trade some of our village supplies for fruits. We were mistaken and locked in this house while we waited. One moment later-"

"I see. I won't have you continue. But I need to ask you something else. You said that the goddess of the undead allowed you to serve me. Tell me more." Said Mari.

"Yes general candidate. When your dark energy manifested your will power the goddess of the undead inscribed my body under your command." Said Cameron.

"Hmm so you're undead?" Asked Mari.

"Yes I am." Said Cameron.

"You don't look undead." Responded Mari.

"Only the weak and lowly undead servants without an inscribed soul lose their appearance general candidate Mari." Stated Cameron.

The remarkable and gently beautiful details of Camerons body and face were not disfigured. The earlier damage and abuse she had taken had healed tremendously fast, almost as if it never happened in the first place.

"Cameron- Geugh-" said the groveling lady.

"General candidate, through your will I can save this one. I can turn her into an undead and allow her to serve you. If we don't act I believe my friend might die." Said Cameron as she looked blankly at her friend slowly dying in front of her.

"You say you can turn her? Will she remain herself?" Asked Mari.

"Yes. Only small details that don't matter will change a bit." Said Cameron.

Mari didn't hear too much of what Cameron had to say, she was getting tired of constantly hearing "General candidate" over and over again ash Cameron spoke. Mari did take note that turning her friend into an undead would not change her.

"Let see what happens here if you do turn her undead." Said Mari.

Her will wrapped around those words and pierced the body of Cameron who was compelled to act as soon as she was given the order.

Cameron approached her dying friend and knelt down besides her.

Surrounding Cameron was dark energy. The dark energy didn't come from Cameron, it seemed as if it was being siphoned from Mari and being used by Cameron.

"Huh?" Asked the dying lady.

She tried looking up but only saw a blank face Cameron grabbing her throat.

Cameron lofted this young ladies body by her throat and snapped it loudly. There was a echoing crunch and bang as Cameron let her friends body fall onto the ground.

What Mari just witnessed seemed to have been plain as day murder. If she didn't order her to do something she had no idea the outcome, she might have punished Cameron.

This was not the time for Mari to become full of eyes of justice. She was not the person to act for justice anymore, this reasoning was what stopped her from punishing Cameron for murdering her friend in front of her. Mari had just committed a crime for causing a death of an entire village.

The lifeless body of Cameron's friend started to emit the same heavy and thick feeling that occurred when Cameron was brought back to life to serve Mari.
