Chapter 18: No Turning Back

(Beth’s POV) TW: mentions of trauma and talk of sexual assault.

Much to Griffin’s word, he is right back along with Anthony and an older man. The older man is carrying a large bag and a smaller bag with him. When he speaks, I find it surprising to hear a very heavy Italian accent, much heavier than Anthony’s.

“Anthony, I’m tempted to beat your *ss for waiting this long. She should have gone to a proper hospital. You understand that by doing this she is no longer considered a civilian, correct?” The man snaps, glaring at Anthony.

Anthony flinches a bit and stares at the floor. “Yes, I understand, Uncle Lorenzo. However, Uncle Rocco started this entire mess by kidnapping her.”

The man named Lorenzo sets his stuff down and proceeds to help me out of the shirt I have on. Turns out Anthony had draped me in a bulletproof vest to help protect me more when he was saving me.
