Chapter 46: Making it Official

(Beth’s POV)

“Babe! The reservation is in twenty minutes, you look gorgeous. Griffin, stop trying to be Mr. Perfect and let me take her to dinner already. D*mnit!” Anthony yells from the living room.

He told me this morning that he and I were going to dinner tonight, says it’s just up the beach, and insisted on calling a cab. I swat Griffin’s hand away from my face and smirk at him. “You’ve redone my makeup five times, Grif, I’m sure I look fabulous.”

He grunts in annoyance but lets me go anyway. Anthony is standing in the center of the living room dressed in a crisp button-down and slacks. Honestly, it’s the first time he’s put his normal attire on all week. At first, it was a pleasant change, but I’ve been steadily growing uncomfortable with the change.

I love Anthony and nothing he does or says will change that, but I’d grown so used to seeing him in suits that not seeing him for a while shocked me.
