SERINE'S POV
Serine woke slowly, feeling warm and safe. She blinked and rubbed at her eyes before realizing where she was. She froze in place, staring at Rem's muscled abdomen before slowly raising her eyes up.
"Good morning," Rem groaned as they stretched. "How's your head?"
Sitting up, Serine moved off of them quickly. "It's okay, slight headache, very dry mouth," she replied quickly.
Rem stood, picking up their tattered jacket and shirt. "That'll happen," they said. They frowned and tossed the useless garments aside. "Gonna need a new coat." They held out a hand to Serine.
She took it and allowed Rem to pull her up. The morning sun was just starting to shine through the windows of the bar and the street outside was filling up quickly, despite the banked snow.
"Shouldn't we stay out of view?" she asked.
