Synopsis

Leader of the gang called the Masquerade, Isaiah is a vicious, old, and controlling vampire. He governs the underground and has such far reaching power that no one leaves the city without his permission.

A former gang member, Remmis, has been a thorn in his side ever since they violently ran away from the gang, leaving Isaiah scarred and infuriated. The strong-willed serval shifter, Rem, has been impossible to catch until Isaiah enlists one of his newest Masquerade members, Serine.

The lovely, shy Serine is a psion with the ability to speak directly into the minds of others roaming the streets of Chicago. Rem’s mind catches her attention, and given no choice, she assists in their capture.

Rem and Serine slowly grow feelings for each other with Serine coming to terms that she wants out of the gang for good, but leaving the Masquerade—and the possessive Isaiah—is easier said than done.

Fleeing The Night is created by Jacqueline Reed, an eGlobal Creative Publishing signed author.

This book is so gritty, and magically full of life, but keeps me at the edge of my seat. I love seeing Rem and Serine's relationship develop. This story continues to keep me coming back!

Such an interesting book! Set in a Chicago we wouldn't recognize but is still slightly familiar, I do not envy the life Rem encounters in this book as they try to survive a world that's barely survivable. Rem is an amazing character, instantly likable and someone that so many people will be able to say, "Finally--someone like me in a book!" I applaud the author for making bold choices and doing them so well! Fantastic read--can't wait for more chapters!

I absolutely LOVE the representation in your story! And the use of "The Masquerade"? I'm here for all of it! My little Vampire the Masquerade heart is so happy! Keep up the awesome work!
