Alex watered the plants then dusted off the bookshelves in the living room. She glanced at her watch.
Well, that killed fifteen minutes. Just a lifetime yet to go.
She puttered around in the living room a bit longer before realization set in that Sam had been gone nearly nine months, and she hadn't sorted through any of his things yet. His desk in the living room still held the same items as on the day of his murder. His dresser still housed his neatly folded clothes, and the clutter on the top remained. As she scanned his personal treasures, she inhaled slowly and deeply, taking in every bit of his scent that still lingered lightly in the air. He'd always worn the same, sexy-smelling cologne - since the very first day he had shaved.
Her head spun with memories. Though too short, they'd had a good life together. She glanced about the bedroom. It was time to sort through his belongings.
