Chapter 17

Alex woke to the comfort of being held in a man's arms, Peter's arms - a feeling she hadn't had the pleasure of in a long time. The warmth and firmness of his hard-muscled body pressed tightly against hers, sparked needs and desires she hadn't satisfied in a while. It crossed her mind to snuggle in deeper. The rhythm of his breathing soothed her. His masculine scent pleasantly teased her nostrils. She felt so comfortable she didn't want to get out of bed, but she had much to do before the twins' football game. She slid out from his hold without waking him, threw on his robe, and padded barefoot to the kitchen.

After she started the coffee brewing, she grabbed the daily paper from the porch. She sipped her coffee as she read an article about the murder of the FBI agent in Milwaukee.
