Alex stood in the living room staring down at the phone. She couldn't help but question Franke's competence. No matter how hard she tried, she just couldn't stomach him and was sure the feeling was mutual.
She recalled the last time she'd paid him a visit at his office, and how angry she'd become when she caught him cringing at the sight of her coming through his office doorway. She had entered his office anyway then took a seat in the chair across from his desk.
She'd watched him for a moment, realizing just how old he was and how weathered he looked. The years on the department had clearly taken their toll on him. She couldn't help but wonder if he wasn't just trying to ride out his time to retirement, which could partially explain why he wasn't pouring himself into Sam's case.
