After her father's death, no one expected Emer to return to work right away, and, if she was honest, defending Sanctuary was the farthest thing from her mind. Of course, there had been the family funeral and then the public memorial service to keep her busy. After that, everything went quiet.


Amelia had taken charge of organising Caraig's office, keeping Jojay on to deal with the extra workload. And as for clearing out her father's home, Amelia offered to deal with packing up everything there as well. This made sense, as the dwelling came with his duties of Chief Seer, and it was likely Amelia would be given permanent residency when she formally took over this role. Of course, that would not happen until Amelia completed a trial before the gods and they ratified her appointment, which would happen at the next full moon in two days.
