Chapter 253: Fate of the Future

Standing outside Tatum’s door, my heart pounded in my chest. The hallway felt suffocating, the air heavy with anticipation. I had rehearsed the words I wanted to say a hundred times, each time hoping to find the courage to confront the man that had helped me recover who I was. A man who helped me to feel again. But now, as I stood on the precipice of truth, fear gripped me.

What if he rejected me?

What if he confirmed my worst fears?

The mere thought sent shivers down my spine. Our past conversations replayed in my mind, twisting my perception, leaving me confused about his true intentions. I had convinced myself that he wanted nothing to do with me, that I was merely a passing shadow in his life. However, no matter how many times I attempted to accept that fate, I couldn’t.

There was something about him that I couldn’t let go.

Something that had me begging for more.
